I have yet to have a successful outdoor pick, I'm not too familiar with wild mushies but I do have an Equadorian grow system in the final flush (#5). Think I'll stick to the indoor stuff, don't have to wait for a season feel me.

yes they shrooms are popping out , I'm in SW fl, and i have gone picking 3 times in the last month, first time i went out i only found a ton of liberty caps , the next 2 time si switched my locations and found Great amounts, around 2 oz dry, each time. got a lot of unopened ones (bullets) and really really big caps like 5"inch, they seem pollinate good this year too, if i found 1 i knew there would be more around it and 75% of the time there was!

I thought shroom fields in florida were super rare these days? I remember reading some article that they put something in the fields, or feed the cows something to prevent the shrooms from growing. IDK, I could be wrong... I haven't even gone hunting in a long time after almost getting shot for it. be careful.

I would totally love to do that..plenty of farmland around here..just afraid I don't know what to look for because I get them from those who grow..any other tips on identification?

Audobon society feild guide to north american mushrooms. Or learn how to take sporeprints and cross reference the print to an identification guide..after you get comfortable its basically knowing where your 'friendly fungi' hangs out...then you can plan ahead for next year and start a patch that will provide a good neighborhood for your friends...and also,as its been stated on riu millions of time...google is your friend!!

Be very careful about that..if you don't have permission, you're trespassing..and when arrested you will have pounds of shrooms cause they are wet..and the cops don't care if its. Water or not..they weigh it all..that's the least of your worries if u get behind the barrel of an irate farmers gun...

Haha i pick em gold (gold Caps,Purple ringers, etc, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psilocybe_cubensis) its literally like finding little gold growing out of the ground, its a risky "trip" there but well worth it. i usually find 10-150 caps in 1 trip, just depends on how far in to the season im in, and the weather here has bin alright i guess, we get HUGe tropical storms everyday, from in between 12-5 sometimes they are short like 30 mins sometimes the re occur twice in a day even if it starts getting hot and humid after the first rain..and i can just feel the strong vibe that there are plenty out there right now, damn i havent gone picking for 3 weeks now. all in all tho the vegetation here sure seems to love the rain, especially my Garden, of paradise.

Anyone with general interest in mushroom cultivation, should visit the Shroomery forum, it is so god damn helpful for every single step.
