I'm ready to throw in some ice water bottles. I think the res temp of 70 is too hight for do and easier for bacteria to grow. I want to cut off the bottom 3/4 of the root and cut off some big leaves before I sterilize the buckets. Do you think its good idea? There are are several opinions on this. Some said it'll kill the plant. Some said it'll stunt the grow which I don't mind delay a couple of weeks as long as the plants get healthier. If I cut it'll be majority of the root so I'm kind of scared but at the same time I don't want rot to infect other healthy white ones.
First things first, knock out the light-proofing of your buckets along with insulating them at the same time to reduce your reservoir temps by using something like Reflectix and foil tape.

I thought foil tape create heat spots. Inside of res is fairly dark with panda film wrap around it. I'm going to spray paint the buckets black this week. I trimmed down the roots as much as I could and added 5ml of 27% h2o2. Yesterday I change the res with nutes and 2 ml of h2o2. Will add 2ml everyday until next red change. Waiting on mycogrow to get here. Then I'm gonna get ewc and some brown sugar to brew some heisenberg tea. Right now h2o2 seems to control the pythium break out temporarily. Will update with pics a week later and see how it goes.

White would be better choice since black will absorb more heat if you don't want to use a fully reflective material. Poly film would work as well if you don't want to mess w/ trying to paint plastic. Honestly though, I have never had any issues with aluminum creating hotspots whether it was the mylar material of my tent, foil tape, or the aluminum of the reflector/hood.

i thought the same so i got flat white spray paint instead of black. was thinking brush paint but too lazy to mess with primer and all that crap. it'd look at least less ghetto than poly film.
