I heard Staples have the 42 watt 6500's. Your NL are looking good, very similar phenos to the ones im growing. Check em out in my journal, tell me what ya think!

staples has bulbs? really? i have a real big problem finding 6500k bulbs where i live, TONS of 2700k though. ill have to check them out

Motivation..... Thanks for taking time out of your days to give us hope in the CFL world. Whats the diffrence in the kelvin spectrum? I hear 6500, 2700. I just want to know what spectrum your useing for the budding and also Ace Hardware has 6500k CFL's

6500k is blue spectrum used for vegetative growth. 2700k is red spectrum used for flowering.

Its a long time to wait for that, I hope I can be that patient. At least yours is only 5 weeks. I have a millenium to go. in the close up shot can you tell me if I have anything to worry about yet? little tiny spots?

incrediblechoke: If you mean the bigger images well you have to post the thumbnail images first then paste the 'properties' of the image you want into the 'insert image' box above. (Not sure if that makes any sense!!).

jjmd, don't worry so much, it looks just fine :-)

sagensour : Thanks. I use mainly 2700k 'warm' for flowering but with some 6400 added in. The 6400's are blue or 'daylight' bulbs, I just feel it balances the spectrum but others just flower under the 2700's no big deal it would seem :-)

Quick shot or 2 at day 29 12/12. I often find I get a bit of esge burn on some leaves, probably overfeeding but I kind of don't worry too much so long as bud development looks strong and healthy.

Heres a few more shots of her at day30 of 12/12. I'll leave it a few days before updating again with new pics. Shes about half way now, I would expect to harvest her around day 63- ish.

These pics show how the extension frame is holding the stems down and spreading them so the canopy is fairly even under those CFL's to maximise light.

Also added a couple of shots showing the concentration of the 350watts of CFL's above her :-)

jesus, i wanna make love with ur plant, how long did u veg northern lights for? it reminds me of my plant except mine is more compact and hasnt budded yet! keep it up...

That plant had just a couple of weeks veg period, counting from when the clone was well rooted. The current clone will get slightly longer, its just rooted so she will get to veg until this one is finished in about 4.5 weeks time. This pheno is very vigorous in its early growth period, its much more to do with the genetics than my grow skills :-) The follow up should be far bigger!

Hi Mature, I was wondering if you could help me by telling me if these kind of CFL lights would work for the whole growing process (veg and flowering).

I'm going to follow SeeMoreBuds "Marijuana Buds For Less" book and grow three plants using 8 42w CFLs. My problem is that the only 42w CFLs I have found this far here in my country (Iceland, North-Europe) are 3000K, not 2700K like he used.

Would it be a bad thing to use these 3000K lights?

3000k lights arent bad dont worry about that to much. its just not as much blue as a 2700k, but it is dammmn close! you will be fine with them! Im quite sure they are pretty much the same thing.

The 3000k's are still in the 'warm' white' range so should be fine I think :-)

Heres a couple of useful charts showing the kelvin spectrum, might be useful for new CFL growers maybe.
