Hey, just got myself a 7-7-7 fertilizer. Any advice/expiriece for using the 1-1-1-type fertilizer for the whole grow cycle?

The short answer is: You want to go with 2 basic fertilizers. One, High in Nitrogen (for Veg) 20-20-20 (for example) . For flowering, you need a High Phosphorous fertilizer (10-60-10) -for example. Happy growing 8)

Thanks, yeah I know :) it is just that I don't have much of a choice in my region, and most of fertilizers available are some wierd stuff like 10-7-9. So I chose this 7-7-7 as a middleground - not too much of anything.
This is a very small grow and I don't expect much. Under worse conditions(just 10-7-9 all through) I managed to pull half an ounce dry. This time I expect anywhere between 1/2 and 1 oz.
And the actual question is - is there anything different I need to do during flowering, than if I was using proper nutes?

There are people who advocate 1-1-1 ratio all the way through. Give it a try. Then pick up something with a higher P, like Grow More Hula Bloom (0-50-30) or Hawaiian Bloom (5-50-17). You could add a little of that in flower to increase your ratio to something like 1-1.2-1 in early flower, working your way up to 1-2-1 in the end. See how that compares to 1-1-1 all the way through. You could also try a generic bone meal. That's slower acting. But, if you used it as a "tea" with your nutrients, it might work. (I've been thinking about trying it instead of synthetic P boosters.).

I'm still undecided whether higher P in flower is better. But, I think higher K in veg (maybe flower too) is good. I'd suggest you buy some langbeinite (also called sul-po-mag). I have Down To Earth's Langbeinite. It's water soluable but may take a few hours. I usually add less than a gram to a gallon of water the night before feeding. It may dissolve sooner. I've dissolved as much as 40g/gal to make a concentrated stock solution. It took about 5 days for all that to dissolve. A lot dissolved in the first hour shaking the bottle (10g/qt).

You'd have to use my spreadsheet to find the amounts to use (of your 7-7-7 fertilizer and langbeinite. It's probably something like 3/4 tsp/gal and 0.9 g). In veg I go for 1-1-2. I might add fish emulsion to bring N up to 1.5-1-2. (The spreadsheet would also help you find the right amounts of P if you try to increase it in flower.).

Yes, just make SURE the plants receive AMBIENT LIGHT. If you're outdoors, that's easy to do, but indoors, you really must use a Powerful Light Source. I run a 400w HPS in my 3 x 2 ' closet space. DSCN0878.JPG Amnesia and Durga Mata II, almost 3 wks in -

There are views that high P foods are not necessary. RM3, a well-known grower on here goes with low P food in flower.

I personally use Jacks bloom booster all through a grow (10-30-20) without a problem....but have had runs where I've gone with Jack's General purpose nutes (20-20-20) and had no issues with that ratio.
