Single females looking for male to mate with

Hello;

I'm looking for 'Male' seeds to introduce to my females...but, haven't a clue on how to acquire them. As this is the 'Seed Bank' site I thought you wonderful people could possibly help me. Any and all comments are welcomed to this subject My other Q is simple: When ordering from seed banks around the world, how do I know I am getting the seed(s) I ordered and they will be females?

It's pretty simple. Buy a few packs of regular (not feminized) seeds. Approximately 50% will be males and the other 50% females depending on the lottery.

Label everything and preserve through clone. Use the couple best looking males, grow out and test the progeny and go back and keep your finest specimens. Rinse/repeat.

or you could just carelessly chuck some pollen and hope for the best.

LOL I'm more of the 'Chuck some pollen' and let the insects do their job I've never grown inside. Okay, got it. Have been reading everything and have gone to 5-sites. I like 3 of them. It seems a bit scary to send cash through the mail though, but 2-of these sites take bank transfers (DC) I want to purchase some this Feb. 15' I would like to grow something stronger for a cancer patient, then what my growing needs are for...Of course, I think I would like to try out some of the Sativas to add to my day time meds.

How do I test it? This 'progeny'? Sorry sweetie I don't understand this part and can't pronounce this word. I have not cloned and don't think I'm ready for that just yet. Maybe in two years time. Now, I do label everything and keep records of what I have done to each of them, with pics of course Would be easier with out the brain trauma part LOL

No worries. Progeny is a fancy word for offspring. The children.

You test them by growing and consuming them and taking note of the medicinal effects.

Make sure you label each plant/clone you take because it can get confusing lol.

You can pick your males from growth patterns and smell some even throw trichomes but you still wont know if the male was any good until the offspring is grown out to see what he offers.

Cloning isn't difficult at all. Get a flexible desk lamp with a decent CFL. Get a tray and dome with vents on top. Open the vents. Put them in a room around 80F or 70F and pick up one of those heating mats. Keep the humidity inside the dome around 100%. Get peat pellets/rockwool cubes, take your cuts, dunk em in some water with a little hydrogen peroxide to kill any pathogens (not really necssary if your plants are healthy IMO, but it doesn't hurt).

Make sure you use small amounts of light. Open the dome a couple times a day to refresh the air inside - give it a spray with a spray bottle to keep humidity up. You will successfully clone in this setup with great ease. It helps to cut the tips off the leaves as well to slow down plant transpiration (helps the cuts stay green).

It is very easy. Do not be intimidated. You don't need cloning powder to have great success, but it does help. Aloe works as well, although you'd want dehydrated aloe powder or aloe from an actual plant.

As far as your original question goes, you're better off getting a male out of a more inbred line than a hybrid. You will get more stable offspring and the traits of that line will be more likely passed. Just pick a line you think you'd like.

There are quite a few breeders with nice IBLs out there. Sannie, PeakseedsBC, Tom Hill, Ace, Cannabiogen, Bodhi, JOTI.

Just about any C99 will be a good breeding plant to work with also. Make sure you soak your pellets/cubes before you put cuts in them also... but yeah, should be no problem.

Yeah what OG said and cloning is pretty easy. C99 will be a nice smoke for you and the seeds are inexpensive - Female Seeds Company.

Just buy another pack of regular beans so that you could use the males for pollen chucking.
