Single Plant, Personal Use

Hey folks, i've been reading here for a while now but this is my first post.

I'm planning on trying my hand at growing a single plant just for my personal use and not really for profit so what I was wondering was how much do I really have to put into it?

Im not looking for a flawless, incredible grow...Just something to ease my pocket cause weed around here is starting to become hard to find and pricey.

Basically I need to know what is the bare minimum I can get away with in terms of equipment!

(Also, if I so choose can I start flowering early just to cut down on time since I don't mind having less product in the end? Or will this just mess up the plant totally?)

go to walmart and buy the four pack of cfls for like 12 bucks and put it in the closet and have a fan blow on it. use all the lights though the more the better. cfls wont affect light bill either. then go from there.

You can't make chicken soup from chicken shit. If you want some descent smoke do a little research and spend a little cash. The equiptment will pay for itself soon enough. Trust me. My first grow I tried doing it cheap and realized I'd better invest a little to get a better end result. Have fun.

first off if u want to harvest one female grow like 3 plants so u have better chances, if you dont wanna buy seeds get seeds from the best weed u can find and some cfls

Yeah ,unless you buy feminized seeds you should grow more than one plant to ensure you get a female. And if your smart you dont have to spend alot of money at all. Keep doing your homework. There is TON of info here at RIU for you. Take advantage of it. I started out with jack on my 1st grow (some 40watt shop lights)and ended up getting nearly half a pound using an eventual 900watts! hey man, i just started germinating my seeds too...i don;t think they'll sprout except for one...i can start to see the root come out.
this is also my first grow. how long should it take? some seeds are like pitch black should i toss those?

i placed in a wet paper towel and placed them inbetween plates. but someone told me to place them in the sun? what shoould i do?
oh i started like on sunday? and none have sprouted...should i just toss them all and forgot all this shisdfaosgjt? haha

Germ. in a DARK place. Usually show taproot within 48 hours. Make sure paper towel stays damp.

out of the 6 seeds i had one survived...YES survived...my fucker friend stepped on the seeds and 2 didn't get squished but the rest did and one lived.

Her names kristen here she is 4 days old haha
yeah it took me this long to germinate...she grow while i was camping so i had to place her in soil from there.

now she;s in good soil...i think.
