I would rather have a AC 600 in a 3X3 but a whole lot of prople grow with exactly that -400 in a 3ft sq-
proper planning and an AirCooled reflector you could run a 1000w in there

prolly go for the 400 you'll be happy and it'll cool easiest

CFL! I have totally lost interest in hi sodiums and halides man. winter ='s cfls:summer ='S The great outdoors man. You can get a 250 watt CFL, which is the most powerful cfl i have seen and is a lot easier to work with than HOT lamps. CFLs still get hot but are a shitload more manageable than those heaters. I don't know man...personal preferance I guess. Good luck. PEACE!

yeah man just use some cfls. thats all i used for my grow and it worked great for me. plus with all of the cfls you will be using, there will be light from all angles so your plant will get adequate light from all angles

I am anything but a CFL lover but if you are considering a 250-watt CFL why not step up to a 315-watt multi-spectrum CFL?

Myself, I would go with the 400-watt with a switchable ballast so you can run both MH and HPS or possibly burn one of the hybrid bulbs the whole time that gives you both light spectrums.

I have purchased so much of their equpment and I am satisfied with every thing. The CFL lighting is unbeleavable, I have two 315 multi deluxe lights and 1 420 light, there easy to set up and my plants are hugh and happy. Thank you SH for your help and and fast service, to any one planing to buy lighting, please give the 420 or 320 systems a go at it. amazing light!!
First off let me say kudos for the fast shipping! Secondly, I was very worried about ordering this lighting but with the ecomony and the soaring cost of electricity, I figured what do I have to loose. Well, I must say that I was very amazed how well it functions...no heat,no noise but tons of light! I dare say it works so much better than the 400 watt HID that I use to use....ANDDDD very low impact on the electric bill!!! Thank you Stealth Hydro!!

DARTH VAPOUR SPEAKS
I havent purchased the Multi Spectrum system yet..but I'm going to for one main reason (there's more than one though). This system will be perfect to propagate and keep those expensive seeds one might have going without having to go outside or worse.....re-purchase them. This is the coolest thing that I've seen and ol Darth has seen ALL GROW SYSTEMS OFFERED FROM EVERY COMPANY OUT THERE.I like it so much that i've written my comment BEFORE I've bought anything....Listen up children.....This is a real bargin and probably a fantastic tool. I'LL BE BACK......no wait thats the terminator.I mean MAY THE SPECTRUM BE WITH YOU....THE MULTI SPECTRUM.

Great light!
This light is easy to mount and control, and the area does not have to be vented for heat. A great light fixture for a confined space at a really good price! Thanks, SH!

This hit the spot!
SH,
Thank you. The light shipped/arrived on time (always a plus), the packaging was neat (and discrete, too). The power this thing emits is freakishly strong, but very nice!!! NO HEAT! This was the solution I needed! I am running it in a veg-config with the (2) 65K and single 50K tubes and it definitely hits the spot. I would recommend this light system to anyone who has a limited space and buying/installing extra equipment to manage excessive/high heat is not an option. If you grow herbs/veggies/flowers/whatever in a closet, you need this light! ...Just make sure you have your shades on when you plug this bad boy in! It's a bright one.
P.S. I need to mention SH's support staff, 'cause they deserve it. Always freindly, courteous and completely knowledgeable, too. Thanks for all the help Robert! It is appreciated.

I use a 400W HPS in a small area like urs (mine is about 2qm) and I did had some heat problems but after getting 2 decent extracting fans (1 for intake air and other to extract air) and a circulating fan problem is sorted...
