Size of wire needed to install light controller?

I'm purchasing the helios 6 and it says use a 240v 50a breaker but what awg do I use to connect from that 50a to the helios6?

# 8 minimum, if you're pulling the full load.

8awg if using copper, which you really ought to. 6awg if aluminum.

If it were me i'd be tempted to go 6awg, rated for 60amps (55 actual temperature rating) due to the continuous load. Always size up. Price difference is negligible.

Also its worth noting this is referring to THHN conductors, not Romex. Definitely size up for Romex.

That unit and many built the same are NOT NEC or CEC compliant and pose a fire hazard by daisy chaining 15A receptacle to a 50A breaker, ESA inspector will order it removed.
