Sleeskunk Freebies from SoS

So far 6 for 6 have been males lol. Is it just bad luck or something to do with the people breeding the freebies? ive seen really nice females come from them in vids but i have yet to find one. the fem freebies are great and the 7/8's sour gave me a great female as a reg. but i pop the SS freebies everytime and everytime i get bad luck lol.

someone reassure me its bad luck lol. because far as i know its just nature giving me bad luck or the strain.

Are referring to Sleeslack x Skunk#1? Because I got 2 freebies from Herbies and both were female. Just got done harvesting them yesterday. 0 for 6 is terrible but I guess it happens once in a while. At least you didn't pay for them.

There is simply NO KNOWN WAY to breed two plants to create all male offspring, nor is there any reliable way to determine the gender of a plant from an unsprouted se-ed. So there is nothing the breeder even could have done to create a pack of all males even if they wanted to!

You probably just had bad luck, exactly as you think. By pure random chance, if you grow out 6 reg ceeds, you should expect to get males in a row 1 time in 64. If you grow out enough beans eventually this will happen to you.

I suppose its possible that the line you have is hermie-prone and some (or all) of the "males" were actually hermie plants with early male flowers. I actually don't think this is that likely, but maybe worth consideration.

In any case, just pop the rest and see what happens. I bet you'll get a female. . . .eventually!

I third the suggestion that it is random chance. In the past I have had seeds produce 5/5 girls, while the next round gave me 5/5 boys. The only means you have of guaranteeing females is to buy or create feminized seeds, and that doesn't always eliminate the risk of hermaphrodism.

(As a side note, I am NOT trying to start a Feminized VS Regular seeds debate. I am simply giving the best advice I have at the moment.)

yeh im not a noob i just get so frustrated with this one strain lol i had to vent because its the one that comes with every SoS package so far. i want to find a female. just got a new package with more of the seeds so here goes maybe 7th or 8th times the charm. i lst'd this one and it is such a pretty bush with so much vigor i kinda knew it would be male just because the rate of growth. but its suppose to warm back up i may set it outside to try to get some pollen out of it and save it for some experimenting. il post a pic of it when i get time its a pretty plant regardless.

oh and yeh i run feminized seeds i got blue dream started and critical kush finishing also a beautiful bubblegumxtop44 fem freebie that looks tasty and has the largest fan leaves i have seen on my indoor plants so far and huge colas(i just got a clone to root taking it 4th week in flower lol). i just like to do the random freebies to try to get lucky and maybe find a keeper mom. oh well lets go spin that wheel of fortune again.

DO you have pictures of your Critical Kush grow? Sorry to get off the topic.

I grew out seedsmans sleeskunk and it was garbage. Mid grade plant, big producer but I wouldnt smoke it.

I harvested my Sleeslack x Skunk#1 after 9+weeks of flowering (grown outdoors). I tried some yesterday and it was surprisingly good, definitely upbove average. Haven't wieghed it yet but I estimate about 13oz's per plant. My seeds were from DNA but from what I've read Sleeslack x Skunk#1 is the same as "Sleeskunk".
