I am trying to max out on the yield for a 400W HPS in a 4x4 room. I got 3.5 oz off of two plants last go round, but I only vegged for 25 days. This time I plan on vegging for two months or eight weeks, whichever. My main goal is to get a few more nodes growing horizontal, so more offshoots can grow vertical...however long that takes really. I had a scrog last go round and I didn't veg it long enough, so there was only half of the screen filled up at harvest.

Grow has been going great so far. They are a beautiful green with no deficiencies. They are taking the training well and respond right away. I am going to promote a supplement for plant growth. If a person grows in soil, I highly recommend Azomite. I found it at my local hydro/garden store. It provides all essential micronutrients, minerals, trace elements and when I mix it with water and use it after transplant, there is no shock. I have never experienced slow growth or stunted growth post-transplant. AZOMITE = “A to Z of Minerals Including Trace Elements”. It comes from Utah and is formed from volcanoes, which is cool. Enough of my favorite fertilizer, here are the pics.

Thanks for the compliments and for following along. The Cheese is the lankier looking plant which is kinda confusing because it is supposed to be an indica dominant hybrid. The Sleestacks are the bushier plants and are supposedly more sativa. Azomite is a very delicate fertilizer and it is really hard to overdose your plants. That said, I used 1/2 cup in each of the 3 gallon black pots which are the Sleestacks and 1/4 cup in the gallon container. When I mix it with water, it's a tablespoon per gallon. **Caution: Azomite's pH is 8.0. Make sure you balance the water before feeding.** Hopefully that helps Stoney. You will not regret using it, especially during and after transplant.

Tomorrow is watering day. Gonna water with 5 pH more than likely as my last watering had some Azomite in it and that stuff is pretty basic. The LST is really taking shape. Tie three is starting the curve around the lip of the pot. I am going to run one more cycle of 1st. week - veg nutes/water 2nd.week - Azomite/Molasses/Water 3rd week - water. Fourth week will be a total flush. Once the plant recovers, flowering will begin. These plant will be behemoths by then. today's pics.

Lookin good, I'm transplanting and doing my fourth tie down tomorrow. I'll throw some pics up when I finish. Your girls are going to be ridiculus by the time to flower them.

Thanks man. I will check yours out when you do it. Yes, my plants are gonna do well when it's time to flower. I have been patient so far, but I am gonna make sure I don't have to go straight from seed again. Seems like it takes an extra couple of weeks.

I made two more ties today. One tie was to the Confidential Cheese in the homemade pot (milk jug) and Sleestack #1. Should only be another few days before all three are tracing the circumference of their pots. I am debating on doing another scrog. Mt first grow was a scrog and it did decent, but I didn't add the screen until flower, so it didn't fill the screen. My only dilemma is if I have to move them. If anyone has some bright methods for horizontal growing that doesn't involve screen...I am all ears. There is the obvious methods of tying down. Also, I cut a couple fan leaves off of each as they were in the way of new growth. Here are today's picture updates.

Homer and I have been using the dollar tree hat with great success..... if you don't mind me posting on your thread i could put up a pic to show ya. and it only cost $1 to make!

I have a perpetual grow so it is difficult for me to do a scrog because of moving the plants around and getting one in and one out every week or two.... so I started to use and idea from Homer, the hanging planters from the dollar tree flipped upside down and mounted to steaks. They have since filled out the hat and i was able to weave the tops like a screen. here are some photos when i first installed the hat....

That's great and I think it will allow me to keep my vertical growth down as I only have 4.5ft. rep ya when I can. That's a great and cheap idea. Have you completed a grow with those yet?

no, i haven't harvested one yet. Homer had two of them on his last harvest. they worked great for him. My plant just isn't ready yet... here are a couple shots i just took of her... as you can see she didn't really get anymore vertical on me, she just spread out and grew buds..... they are not even close to being ready... according to calendar she is, but I'm not! she is a wonder woman from nirvana.

Check out this SCROG setup - https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/407263-las-fingerez-mini-movable-scrog.html

I am perpetual also and I use a CCOB style training method that I adapted from Hobbes - https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/360125-new-growers-needed-grow-lab.html#post4545778

I top for 2 colas, train the colas around the bottom of a tomato cage and then flip it to flower relatively soon to minimize stretch. It has been a bit of a learning curve and requires some pruning but I am liking it.

I am now changing up the CCOB style rotation to a Spiral type of rotation on my newest plants.

The home depot 'type' stores sell rolls of green plastic fencing about 2.5 ' wide with 1-2' square holes. Throw a plant sized rectangle of that (plastic bending upwards, not down) on her when of size. The grn plastic spool wire works well to do more tie-downs as your tops begin to outgrow your plant weave. Also a stake, or two, may keep it from rotating, and poss damage main stem, once all that weight is all tied together. Scroggy McPhatty, ex-Sumo Wrangler, passed that along as i reckin. this may even apply to your scenario.. good luck.

I like Nirvana's stuff. All of their seeds popped, but I was having trouble getting them to grow. Thanks for the advice.

I used a section of fence last time but didn't think to individualize each plant's scrog. Thanks for your input.

I appreciate everyone's input so far. Keep any fresh ideas coming.

Lookin good, I took a few days off from these forums because these dudes ganged up on me pretty bad. I found some old posts the guy had made about having trouble with his weight, having a drinking problem, and his dad killing himself. I told the guy if he didnt quit posting his bullshit that i was going to punch my ticket to hell. He couldnt let it go so I reamed him on all his personal shit. I felt really bad, because i never do shit like that. I've been a member here for three years and didnt start posting untill i had a couple succesful grows. This dude joined april 2011 and had over 300 posts. I've always been the type that keeps quite unless I have something worth a damn to say. Anyways, I felt bad about that shit, but that asshole asked for it. I am going to finish transplanting my ladies they are 6 weeks old today. I have been using fox farm ocean forest for this grow. I am going to take your advice and mix my own soil for my next grow. 80 bucks spent on soil for 6 plants won't fly!

Oh I know how these threads can get sometimes. I wrote you a message explaining why I disappeared for a little while. I hate to sound cliche, but all it takes is one bad apple and the whole thread will get tainted. You try to help someone with their grammar and you get labeled a grammar Nazi, as was my case. I mean most people on here are growing illegally. If they can't use proper grammar or the right word, then it makes me doubt their ability to grow successfully without getting popped. If they can't spell or use the correct word, it makes me second guess their intelligence level. I can tell the difference between someone that's just typing slang and those genuinely lacking knowledge. That's just my two cents and I understand how people get roughed up on here by absolute idiots.

Now back to gardening. Yeah, Fox Farm has great soil. However, I can make better soil and spend $40, which is enough for quite a few grows. The only thing you might have to buy every couple months is a 1.5cu ft. bag of Organic Sunshine.
I will give you my soil mix recipe with prices.

1. 1 bag, Sunshine Organic Planting Mix 1.5 cu ft. bag - $9.99 (pH balanced, no nutrients added, used as substrate, available at indoor gardening shops)
2. 1 bag, Dr. Earth Fruit Tree Fertilizer (7-5-2) - $8.95 (found it at an outdoor gardening shop/nursery...has mycorrhizae and other beneficial nutrients)
3. 1 bag, Jiffy Seed Planting Mix - $5.00 (can be omitted, as the Sunshine Mix is very light and fluffy. I just added it because I germed my seeds in it)
4. 1 bag, Miracle Grow Perlite - $5.00 (any Perlite will obviously work)
5. 1 box, Azomite - $8.00 (I highly recommend this stuff. Has all the nutrients you could ever imagine)
Total = $37.00!!! (This little cash for an enormous supply of nutes and ferts for veg. I actually use Technaflora's Recipe for Success, but isn't completely necessary and not relevant if going organic. The only thing you will be buying often is the bag of Sunshine, which is better than FF's $40) If you decide you want to try any of this soil recipe, I will shoot you the ratios.
