Slightly pale leaves, coty has dropped...not enough nutes?

my 15 day plants leaves are turning slightly paler (light greenish/yellowish). Why are they pale? After much reading, i concluded that it could be either:

- Nitrogen def - lack of nutes? i just fed the little fellas with a very very small dosage (slightly less than quarter of recommended) of miracle gro pour and feed (NPK 0.02-0.02-0.02) and they seem to be responding well with no signs of nuteburns whatsoever. So should i feed them a little more? they were starting to get pale before i gave them the small amount of nutes.
OR
- Soil PH -i have been watering with RO water only. dont have a PH meter yet, but its on its way to me as we speak.

As for medium, im using a generic local brand as I cant get any good potting mixes in the country that i live in. Grow room temp with a 250w hps is around 28ish celcius at peak..strain is a nirvana auto bubble.

Am i on the right track or not? please advice on what needs to be done...

thanks! :)

pics added (phone camera quality though)....the one on the left already showing some hairs i think :) (first pic)......2nd are the 2 plants...any help is much appreciated!

got pics up now..

noticed that the slower growing plant is curling slightly..so now:
could it be that my grow room is too hot at times?
could they need more N?
or is it a water PH thingie?

any feedback is much appreciated! thanks.

they look a little young for nutes. Perhaps you are using a soil for older plants. if thats the case they just need to toughen up and recover

Ok, u mean just leave them be for the next few days?

My soil is cheap and generic..it doesnt seem to have enough aeration, so i went to the store and got me some verm and perlite. U think i should repot?

Just to be safe, i moved the plants back under my 100w and 55w CFL lights (they were under 250w HPS previously)...at least until i get another temp/humidity meter just to be safe...at least then i'll rule out if heat is the issue, or better yet the plants recover nicely.

the seedling leaves will fall away. they could just be a little stressed moving them around from pot to pot could stress them more. put them back under the new lights and make sure its not to hot in there

The first one looks great. The second does look a little yellow. Not sure why.

Maybe it is the angle of the picture, but they look stretchy too. How far away is the light?

Hi Jiggy..yea, its yellowing and the green is slightly pale...actually both plants older sets of leaves are yellowing....

they were strecthing when they were younger, but sorted that out now...lights are less than 2 inches away now..

PH soil meter arrived today and it was no surprise that PH was off (4.9..yikes!). So i added a pinch of dolomite lime to my soil...

My potting mix isnt that great..water clogs up...u think i should repot? or just go with the flow?

lol..believe me that was the best potting mix that i could get my hands on at that time...thats why i got me some verm and perlite to add in as i noticed that it wasnt draining that well...cant get those awesome potting mixes like u guys can, although MG potting mixes are available here.

i will be heading to some local gardening shops tomorrow to look out for some better potting mixes.

u think i should repot then by your comment?

I use potting compost bought from a garden and farm supply. It's just good dirt. I do my own mix-ins as well of perlite and sand as well as a few other bits.

As far as re-potting, it's up to you. If you know it can be better, I suggest going for it. Good luck. :peace:

They seem to be growing slowly although the bottom leaves show very little or no improvement...still think it would be best to repot?

Have you been giving the seedlings nutes since they popped up from the soil? From popping out to about 2 or 3 inches, I just fed with RO/Distilled water. When they got to 4 to 5 inches, I started to introduce nutrient solution at low ppms.

yes i have, i fed them a very mild dossage of nutes a few days ago. They are growing and no signs of nute burn, its just that i know the soil that their in aint that good...shitty aeration and water clogs up..which makes the PH level all over the place.

With that said, im just wondering and hopefully get opinions here on what i should do. Should i leave them in their current potting mix or repot to the new mix i just acquired which is so much better?
