So everyone, what do you think is the minimum temperature you can have and achieve a good rate of growth?

I’ve only been vegging in the garage since last spring so I hadn’t run into this.
You won’t be able to overheat with an oil filled heater. Under LED they rock up to the high 80’s. A minimum of 80 is needed. This is a situation where HID reigns.

can you insulate the tent, and then duct it into your house thru the attic space with some booster fans so that way your home heating system takes care of any heat loss? I would bet if done right it would end up not adding too much load

Thanks yeah, unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be able to do that.

Quick update, if anyone is interested?

I took them inside and they’ve come back to life and are growing pretty vigorously now, which is a relief. I suppose it was quite obvious really that it was too cold, but I think I’d expected them to die quite quickly if that was the case.
Interesting to learn then that (providing you don’t have any other issues), the cold keeps plants in a sort of stasis. Those storing cuttings have already mentioned here that this can be useful.
I will update this thread with how they are doing, incase anyone else has the same problem.
I hope this added stress has only made them more resilient rather than made them herm or anything but I guess it will be a while before I find that out.
Gonna give them a few weeks to bulk up before I flip and then we will see how they get on.

As you can see from the last post I took on some of the advice from here and got an oil filled radiator and insulated my seedling/veg tent considerably and the latest lot of seedlings are very healthy.
These ones I bought inside are now flowering.
