I dug it up again today because i was curious if it was growing downwards. I saw a tiny root structure maybe 3/4" in height. Hopeful that one root that's beginning to travel down will take precedence and wont pancake horizontally. Leaves grew a tiny bit and another set is growing as well.

i was picking around the surface of the soil and saw the tip of the same root that u turned.
Will the plant make more shoots underneath and continue downwards?

Gotta be patient. they are building the root system. Also it could be that your using large pots from the git go. Not saying that your approach is wrong. Its just may take a little longer before you see any upward growth. Have you grown before or is this your first?

Last grow was a bagseed experiment that ended up mail. So this time i have my fems eeds and free seed. I didn't feel like having to transplant so i went straight into the two gallon. I actually planted another in a 2 gallon foxfarm mixture. So i guess same thing will happen to it. Is there anything i can do? Or just be patient?

Im curious if there is a major diference in plant vigor with or without transplant. Will i notice a decline in yeild? Or perhaps I will only need an additional 2 weeks for plant growth to catch up until desired veg height 8-10"

To be perfectly honest i dont know if going straight into finishing pots is all bad. less stress later. I usally start out in small 4" but thats cuz im cramped for space. When mine get about 8 to 10" ill put them in finish pots. its just that ive noticed that after any transplant it will be a few days before you see any growth. The roots must get strong first. Then you want to keep the vegetation in supurb shape as best as you can and the buds will follow suit. Yeah i would just be patient and aslong as your temps are good you should see some growth soon. best of luck:leaf:

you don't really want more than 1 plant per pot. you don't really want seedlings in mg. seedlings don't need any nutes. you want to try and get your rh up, it's important. you don't need to be misting them. unless you're foliar feeding, skip it. also, if your root-zone is too cold, it can really slow the plants growth.

Im curious in the actual growth formation and strategy of a plant when in a cup vs in a large medium. What is actualy going to that causes the slow growth. Is it that in a cup the roots hit bottom then upward veg starts to occur? And when in a large medium roots drive deep until plant decides there is a need for leaves and further vegetation in order to prolong life?

my soil is fairly dry 1 finger down so i am watering it so that it is moist about 5" down. I don't water until runoff because i kno that these seedlings barley can drink up 2 quarts worth of water. My lights evaporate most of the water and dry out the soil. Just trying to keep it moist keeping the topsoil nice and airy. After moving from 8" to 3" under cfl i noticed that the widow seems to be perking up and bit and has stretched a tiny bit.

i just focus on getting the core around the plant wet and keep the top 6" moist, loose and even.

well if you do that, you're limiting your root growth. the roots won't grow in an area where the medium is dry. that's why it's a good idea to stagger to bigger sizes until you get to where you wanna be.

I see. So you would recommend that i water until drainage? I believe my roots are no longer that 5" I may be wrong.

Be sure to mist the heck out of it and moisten all the soil you can. I had a stray sprout that I kept in my room and barely misted and when i did finally transplant the roots had just grow out sideways into almost a root pancake. Be sure to moisten the soil extremely well and possibly put it closer to the light.

If it takes awhile it might be more likely to be a female *shrug* it'll grow eventually!

You just gotta chill you just popped the seed. It will take a few days till the seed husk sheds and mean while your tap root is searching for your new babys food source. just pump yo brakes and give it some time. Its real easy to get impatient growing which is gonna get the best of you unless you can leave it be. And i mean till harvest and its not easy, Its a discipline.

Yea i check it like every four hours and pat the soil n shit. Its hard not to. Can't wait until i start to lst and top. You kno how it is. My first big time seeds

someone I know is right there with you, they have a from-seed grow and its been maybe over a month since beginning germination. to wait until they reach 18 inches of growth until veg can start is going to take another month! they have been fimmed ( after the first 5th leaf node ). From seed this grow is going to take at least 4 months! its like getting a damn degree.

they are growing massive amounts of roots but not much vertical growth and nodes about 1/2" apart. Where it was fimmed, on the fastest growing plant, there is now a plethora of new growth sites exploding. Patience is a virtue!
