I’m in southern Ontario and I’m finding this year my plants are not flowering as quickly I’m just starting to see little hairs but it’s progressing very slowly any input ?

I'm in SE Wisconsin and my plants are delayed somewhat too. But this week we start to see more drastic changes in light/dark ratios, and I still plan on a good 10-12 weeks of flowering. Long term forecast shows a warm, extended fall this year, so keep those fingers crossed!

You're not alone; last year my plants started pre flower mid July now end of July so :/ meh probably the weather honestly; so hot

Are you running a different strain? Have you recently given it a healthy dose of nitrogen. ... There can be so many factors including the weather

I agree with you. This year nitrogen in flower is being pushed really hard on the forums. More so than I've ever seen. I expect to see the delayed flowering to be widespread as a result.
Honestly I've had the feeling for a while that purposely bad advice gets spread around to sabotage crops in the Hope that it gives them a easier shot selling their crop

Been seeing that too....and that was why I asked. Some of the npk levels given in flower has blown my mind.... but this is how you learn as a grower.
And the further noobs get into flower and fade starts happening there will be a ton of people saying THROW some N on there lol

I wish it were that easy. I'd load up on N to keep my early girls from flowering in the rain. But the length of the dark period is what makes them flower. You might delay it a few days with food, but it's all about long nights.
My longest day of the year is 14 hours 7 minutes. All my new strains flower in early summer and have been rotting in the daily thunderstorms.
I feed veg food for 1st 3 weeks of flower, then 50/50 veg and bloom for 2nd 3 weeks, and bloom from then to the end.
I veg with liquid 11-2-1 and bloom with 2-10-10 granules. I scratched in the first bloom feeding last week. Will do another light one in about 2 weeks. That should last till the end for everything except the long winded GTH s1.

That's still less nitrogen than people are pushing by a lot. I'm seeing people saying to use veg nutes only until week 4 flower with N numbers 20 and above.

Yeah you can look it up and many places will say the same thing that high levels of nitrogen will in fact slow down flowering. Will it stop it from happening? No... but you might extend your season by a couple of weeks and that can be detrimental to some of us.

I checked the light dark schedule in my area and it says 14 hours light so I’m thinking that’s why there not flowering don’t they need a 12/12 schedule to start flowering

And is this to say they won’t even reach a schedule of 12/12 because there is only a change of 2 minutes each day I’m feeling really confused about all of this. Do plants not make it to flower some seasons in Ontario for this reason ?

plants start showing sex and flowering at about 14 1/2hrs of light outdoors. 12/12 light outdoors happens but only at the equator. when most ppl talk about 12/12 light sechedual its for indoor set ups. Its just getting into when they should start showing and i wouldnt worry about it for the next week or so. If they dont start flowering after that then something is wrong.

Big numbers like that are not good. Some strains will be hungrier than others, but nothing need that much N that late.

Outdoors you will only have one day of 12/12. On or around September 22nd. The nights continue to get longer until December 22nd. It will very from strain to strain, but most will flower when you get down below 13 hours 45 minutes Length of Day. Some much sooner than that.
