Slowly drying...

Hey guys,This is my first attempt to dry this magnificent plant, but it is drying since 11-11-12 (11 days). Isnt it taking too long? She is still connected to the main stem, the box is in a dark fresh place but only passive air enters.

A healthy steady drying period is around 6-7 days.
You should have some way of moving air around inside the drying area, with the help of a fan or the like.

11 days is too long in my opinion and speaks to a too high RH and bad air circulation.
I would watch out for mold if I were you.

You should also cut holes in the sides of the box so the air can circulate better.

No mold so far. I can put the box near my exaust fan from the growroom.Its dark and it would bring air circulation to a good level right?

if the air is moving and warm and dry then it can take as little as 3 days if the plant was pretty dry when cut I`ve seen other people take 2 weeks to dry their plants even with a fan as the air was really cool I find a heat mat under the box and a fan blowing air in or sucking air out helps and brings it down to 3 days max but I only use the heat mat if I`m in a rush and its winter better to take 5 to 8 days over it let it dry nice and slow Sounds like a day or 2 with a fan on it and you`ll be ready to cure man.

You should never let a fan blow directly on the buds when drying.

The fan wont be directly on the buds and the air that exits the exhaust fan is 68F. Good temp right?

20c is a good temp I like 20c to 25c I`ll maybe push 28c sometimes Did I say fan on the bud ? I rig up an in and out fan onto the box in a ideal word but any airflow helps Plus you can dry outside when it`s dry even if the wind is kicking up only problem is sometimes your herb gets blown away my mum`s been known to chase her mint down the garden to get it back lol
