My baby is approximately 3.5 months old and has started sprouting lil white hairs at the stem joints. Are these the start of buds? How long does that usually take? Also is the purple stems normal? Thanks in advance. P.s. this is my first grow.

welcome to RIU @kuntrykush420
congratulations on your first grow. if you are running on 18/6 light schedule, then congratulations-you've got a girl and she's just showing you her sex. however, if you have recently switched to 12/12 to start flowering, then congratulations-you've got a girl and she has started to flower. either way, it's a good thing.:weed: good luck on your grow.

throw up some more pictures if you can so we can see how she looks overall. regarding the purple: could be genetic or she could need to be fed. have you fed her?

The purple stems may be that it just got a bit too cold. If it gets too cold it will stress the plant and stunt it or slow it's growth a bit. That happened to my grows a long time ago when I didn't have good ventilation and heat for indoor growing. The temps only got down to 60, but that was enough for whatever strain I had going at the time.

If you're outdoors - cover them a night.

Welcome to RIU!

Fed as in watered? Yes I water daily. As far as fertilizer no I'm skeptical bc most aren't good for it. Here is a pic of the whole plant. Yes it's outside grow in great Lakes area. just did recently start getting dark earlier as time change is approaching.

Don't water daily!!!!!!!!!! I can't stress that enough only water when your plant needs water, and there's tons of organic fertilizer that you can use, it's going to need it.

I'm trying to stay organic on all fertilizer/pesticides. Do you have any suggestions as to which ones to get? What npk numbers? Thanks again yall are really helpful.

Yo you are straight up starving old girl and are going to get shit if you don't start feeding it.. I mean shit.. All of your leaves are about to fall off and you will end up with these little pathetic looking ass buds.. But at least they will be organic, right?? :bigjoint:

Do yourself a favor and get some nutes ASAP even if they aren't organic.. I don't do organic but from the sounds of things you gotta mix up a bunch of dirt and have it "cooking" for a while.. Some "teas" and blah blah blah.. Like I said, I don't do organic but there are a bunch of folks on here that do and a few of them I'm sure will be able to help you more than me..

But if you keep on trying to just give them water you wont have many leaves left in a couple weeks, and hardly any a couple weeks after that.. And no leaves = no buds.. Good luck player!

Get her some food what happends when you don't eat you get week and you did .....so will your plant ...also don't water her everyday your killing her with kindness doing that Just water her thoroughly then let the soil get nice and dry before you water her it again .....the purple stems may be because the temp is getting low during the night But that's the least of your worries at this point good luck. Feed it and start good watering habits ASAP ....

Update!

Got some bloom booster (15-30-15) and within a week or so color is coming back to the leaves and she has sprouted twice as many hairs if not more! In process of setting an indoor area up for her as nights have been getting really cold here. Just wanted to say thanks for the advice!

I dunno, tough one here.

That plant is super small for being 3.5months old. This plant has been outside for its whole life? It shoud be much more than that pic above, no offense. It should also be in flower lol

Mine in outdoor Michigan began flowering by the second or third week of August. So that plant has been outdoor for months and it should've been flowering for like 6wks already...

Honestly, if you're setting up a space inside then I would just toss this plant and start fresh. I don't think this plant is worth keeping.

But you could totally disregard my message and keep it and put it into 12/12 inside. I still think it'd continue to exhibit slow growth. It's already not worth the time put into it.

I know this post sounds super negative, but I'm trying to be realistic.

Can you post a pic of it now? You said it looks better, let's see. Also, is the inside space done? It's been pretty cold at nights here in my part of MI, outdoor season is finishing up.

I could be wrong but I would just can it and start fresh.
