Small Grow Room (space) Setup

Hello everyone,

I'm planning on building a grow room (small space) for the first time, i would like to have it build before i bought the seeds. Basically i have a crawl space to work with and i would have to build the grow room inside of it.

This is a crude paint shop sketch of it.

The triangle represents the shape of the crawl space, you cannot see the Length of the room but it's well over 20 feet, so i was thinking of a 5 foot Length, and then the box represents the grow room i would have to build inside leaving room for me to work around.
My main questions are,
1. What light is recommended for a space this size?
2. I have to fit 5 plants inside (auto ak47), is 3.33'(height wise) enough room to grow auto ak47's?
3. What type of ventilation/air exchange should i consider putting inside (remember its a small space)?
4. I know i will need and Air Condition because of how hot it gets in the crawl space ( i do have several AC units) how should i go about hooking it up.

Sorry for all the question i just like to get all the details before i start something and after reading alot about growing i know i need all the help i can get. Thank you for your time.

I would say get a air cooled 400 watt so you could put closer to the plants and use the space well. Also have a carbon filter and ducting going out the room. Have another duct attached to the AC unit and run that into the room to kid it cool. You should go with 2 or 3 gallon pots if your planning on growing in soil.

Sorry but you won't have enough height to run a 400 in that space....Think about this, lets say your pot is 1' high, the light like a 400 will take up 1' if not more at the top....leaves you with no room for your plant at even a 1 foot Can you not build a box in that area and just hang the light? That area you box is showing would be grow area where plants would sit and light would hang right above that? You can't grow that tall so 2-3 gallon would work. I would recommend 2 gallon smartpots.

It's actually very easy to do, but if you're a new grower, you better be a fast learner and have decent start up funds. Take a look at the journal in my sig. You can use shallow dwc like me hand have a res/pot height of 6", use the scrog method of training so you can grow any strain you'd like(not limited to small/auto's), and run aircooled lights(400w). My first journal does this in an area of similar dimensons. Here's a link to it...
