I am looking for an air conditioning solution for my 5x9 tent. I was thinking about putting a regular portable ac inside the tent, but is there any small ac's that can be hung inside of tents on the metal bars of the tent frame? If not, what is the best solution for air conditioning a tent only and not an entire room (shed)?

Go portable. I don't think your going to find anything small enought to hang up in a tent, those cross bars are pretty flimsy and I doubt they can handle the weight of pretty much any ac unit

You need to cool the room the tent is in... Proper ventilation inside the tent and it will cool itself.

Just read its a shed... If it's a big shed like the barn looking ones... Have electric installed.. A lot of cash I know but it's the only solution... You can't grow a tent without cooling the room it's in.... It's just going to be sucking heated air in.. Maybe put the portable inside the shed instead of the tent?

No it's not big barn shed, it is a typical backyard shed, about 12ft by 12ft. It is not perfectly sealed off either but it does have a window ac in it, but it is old, too noisy (neighbors, gotta be stealthy) for and probably needs to be replaced. I was just seeing if there was a good way to directly cool just the tent and ONLY the tent, but I guess I might have to resort to ac-ing the whole room that contains the tent.

You could get a floor model A /C and pump the cool air into the tent.
use a fan with higher CFM to exhaust Tent out draw thru carbon filter.
pump shed air thru tent into light hood and out of tent into shed.

I use ladies stockings on end of my ducts for all fans it keep debris and hair and such from getting to my fans.
