Small HID Stealth Grow?

Is it possible or impractical? I'd like to grow at least 2 plants and have a grow op that isn't suspicious looking, and with odor control of course.

Does anybody know anything on this subject of matter?

Will appreciate any help :peace:

Let me also say I need my plants at a 2 to 2 and a half ft. minimum. Just to give an idea of how big I want the grow to be. bongsmilie

you can use a 150-250w hid in a cabinet or armoir, you can fit 2-3 plants in a scrog style grow. thats what im doing... :)

250w hps will be to hot for a small stealth grow. go with a 150 with a remote ballast

If you can find a 150 get that but if not I've seen wonderful things done with cfl's. My recommendation is to do a dresser/armoir/tool chest with PC fans. Since you're doing a low profile grow plant size will be an issue. I suggest growing more smaller plants. Do like 15-20 party cup red dwarfs or some other short stature strain. Just grow a bunch of smaller plants and harvest the main colas. You don't have to train and veg as long so turnout will be higher. Like a bunch of these --> https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-growing/289369-3-strain-party-cup-grow.html

the advantage of a scrog style grow as opposed to this SOG style grow in the cabinet is that there are fewer plants to monitor and you can control the plant height at your will, imho scrog is the best way to grow in a small cab. as for ventilation, you wanna make sure theres airflow, good airflow between the tops of the plants and the light, and have a good exhaust system at the top of the cab. you can even separate the light with plexiglass and cool the "light chamber" with a couple exhaust fans.

your options for a cabinet grow really depend on the size of the cabinet.

I still disagree with the SCROG with 2 plants. You're going to get MORE buds FASTER doing SOG like these -->cupbud1.jpgcupbud2.jpg
If you get a stabilized strain they will all be the same stature plus the SCROG method takes alot longer to veg and you have to train the branches to go through the screen. With the SOG method you can pack in more plants and harvest the main cola. This guy got a quarter off each plant in PARTY CUPS! I dunno thats what I would do. You need more room with a SCROG anyway to make it effective.

I believe I will be doing a dixie cup fem snow white when I start my next project. Planning on topping it once and tie'n down branches with zip ties and connecting it to the lip like in those pictures. It's so small I believe I can put it in the middle of the larger pots and give it the most light saturation. Hopefully yielding some super nugs like sicc's. Those massive mini colas are inspiring

You can totally do it. Here is what I am doing right now:
Veg Box:
-24"x24"x12"
-100w MH bulb, remote ballast
-PC fans for cooling (10 for $10 on newegg.com)
Flower Box:
-30"x18"x18" (its a mini fridge)
-70w HPS, remote ballast

What I'm doing is vegging in my veg box, taking clones and flowering them in my flower box. This way I can always be flowering and vegging plants. I'm doing this in my closet, in my room at my parents house (stayed with the rents while getting my BA). I've flowered a plant all the way in there once and no one really seemed to notice. It smelled pretty strong, but if you set it up so that the lights in your flower box don't turn on until 9PM your it should be ok. My logic is that around 9 is when I usually smoke, and it smells like weed in my room because I'm rolling or vaping. The smell from one or two small plants isn't much worse than a bag of dank left sitting out. IDK, I have mmj though, so my family is a little more lenient, and they aren't nosy either.

I'd say I spent a total of $150 on the whole setup. Look for an old Mercury vapor ballast and put an MH bulb in there, as long as the wattage is the same it should work, you'll save some money that way. I'm using ballasts from home security lighting for my setup. If you want to check it out, go here: https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-growing/307706-mini-fridge-grow-2-a.html.

Depending on how hot where you live gets a 250 could work. I know where I live my 4" Active Air cant hardly keep my temps at 80 with a 250w in a DR80

I have a closet grow right now with a 400w HID. its gets pretty warm in there so I have fans blowing air in and out... i wouldn't say the most stealthy, but it works. If you use a HID lamp, you can get an exhaust unit for it to filter the odor and to cool the air. I'm planning on growing 2-3 plants in my space (which is basically just part of my closet). I haven't figured out the flowering area, but I'm thinking about switching the veg area to a different space using CFLs for vegging and cloning. Then I will swap the metal halide for a hps bulb and flower with my 400w. Check out my grow if you like...
