Small Plants???

Hi,

Im really new at this and I think my plants are in trouble. they are around 1.5 - 2 months old and only about 2.5 inches tall.

They are grown outside and i live in Aus so sunlight is not a prob. they grow in pots that are HUGE and they grow in organic potting mix with a Ph in the required range.

What could be wrong and are they fine or am i going crazy???

That soil looks useless. All bark chips and no dirt. Are you sure it's general purpose potting soil? It looks more like mulch, or some sort of specialty soil for orchids or something.

well thats what the plant people said. i asked what type of potting mix i needed for growing "herbs and fruit & veg" and they gave me that. do you all think i should change it??

I'd wait for some more people to pipe up and offer their advice, but my opinion is that that soil is a big part of your problem. The plants aren't getting any nutrients out of it. I feel pretty safe in saying you'll get good results if you carefully transplant your babies into a better growing medium.

they saw you coming from a mile away. they sold you 'decorative mulch' for putting at the base of your trees NOT for f=growing anything. get some potting soil and transplant them asap I am surprised they lasted this long. get a fan on them, get a light on them, too. put them in dirt right up to the first set of real leaves! damn they look sad...

any 'soiless' potting mix will work the soiless kind has no added nutes or ferts and is the best

dude ur plants look super decrepit. i dont even know if theyre worth saving, i mean to get to that point again only takes a week.

just buy some miracle grow soil and some miracly grow pearlite at home depot or lowe's.

Yea, I would throw those out and start fresh. It's not worth trying to drag a limping horse in order to save another weeks growing time.

Go research proper grow mediums, read everything in the growfaw here for help:
GROWFAQ

Then start fresh with a plant that isn't barely escaping death.

Here's my plant at 8 weeks, about the same age. Only media I used was regular potting soil & perlite.

lol sorry for laughing, but yes they are indeed small. you said 1.5 - 2 months?

heres a pic of mine, they are normal size and they are about 42 days old or around there
Yeah, but in your case, I think it's the buckets that are doing the magic.
