Smart Metre Trouble

Hey everyone, I just went out to look at my smart metre and it says 14272 kwh. Is that really how much the house has used in a month, or is that for the whole year?

no, that is over the lifetime of the meter. what u have to do is look at ur bill, it will give u a date on when ur meter was read and what it said and also the meter reading before that and what it said. your actual power usage is the difference between the two readings. in other words if u look at the bill today and it says ur last meter readin was 13272 then uve used 1000 kw hours look at ur rates and multiply it out and u can tell what ur bill is costing u buy the day, week or month before u get it.

Very helpful, thank you! Just got worried my 600W MH bulb running 24 hours was making the rates go up, which technically it does, but I didn't think to that excess. I don't mind paying an extra 50 dollars a month to run this thing.

yeah one 600 shouldnt really push u more than 50 or 60 bucks a day. 24 hr usage is 14kw hrs/day times 30 days 420 hours where i live i pay 11 cents a kw and we are high, Thats only about 46 bucks extra a month. wait til u get up like me I run pretty much 2k watts and 3k watts in ac's. Lemme tell ya the bill sucks lol
