Smell change

This is my first grow and my plants are currently on their second day of drying upside down on hangers. They are drying in my grow tent with an avg temp of 65 and humidity at 55. They were grown in coco coir and perlite. My question is about the smell. They smell like hay or grass right now. That is a huge difference in their smell right before harvest. The strain is sour diesel. Is this drastic change normal?

OP the hay smell is normal, there's a long explanation of what's happening chemically but it's normal. it's usually mid way through a dry they start to smell of hay. are they still quite damp? Full stalks or plants should be pretty damp after only two days. Low temps help prolong the dry while low humidity does not. How do they feel?

Cut early, but smell should return around 6-7 days while STILL drying.

Wet trimmed? Whole plant hanging?

They've actually been curing in mason jars for the last week and a half. Their original smell has returned even stronger. The hay smell is completely gone. Thanks again for everyone's help.
There you go. Great hobby huh?
