Smell is not as strong during drying?

I have hung my buds and let them sit in the dark for 24 hours before circulating air in the room. The air is not directly on them. I noticed that the smell is not as bad almost a hay smell. Am I drying to fast. Do I need to shut the door to the closet and not circulate air? Do you think the room circulates enough without the fan? Help!

What do meen? " I noticed that the smell is not as bad almost a hay smell."
Not as bad as what?

What is the temp inside your closet?
What is the RH inside your closet?

What's your real question???

temp 70 degrees f. rh is 48 to 52 percent. My bud was smelling like dank and it smells like hay with a bit of dank!

Your numbers are great. (temp&PH)
With lite circulation you'll proly be dry in a week. (plus or minus 2 days)

I have not had my grass ever start smelling like Hay. So I'll be silent about that.

Smelling dank after harvest while drying.
Powdery Mildew, Bud Rot, (Botrytis). Call it what you will, is a growers nightmare.

Do you have, or can you get an Ozone generator? PM and it's spores don't like ozone. A little Ozone goes a long way.

Try ionizing the air in your dry room too.

I know time is short, and the quality of your Bud is what it's all about after harvest, so I'll toss you a personally untested method.
Green Cure (potassium bicarbonate) In a weaker solution than the instructions recommend for living growing plants. 3/4 of recommended amount should be fine.
I think I'd dip my Bud completely in solution, rather than spray.
Shake off the excess, and rehang for drying.
Cross my fingers.
Keep my nose working, and my eye's open.

Got any pics?

Thanks Stay Smokin206. I was wondering. This is the first time I have done the grow right. I was a fraid I had fucked up! I know what mold and mildew is. I have none of that. I was going to hang dry for 5 to 7 days . Then put them in a mason jar seal shut. Then 2 to 4 times a day let stand 15 minutes with lid off to get rid of excess moisture. After a week or two I will try a smoke. Does that sound right for properly curing

I would hang them until there dry, 7-9 days.
Then go about your curing method.

Im with staysmokin, cure it right and the dank smell will come back.
