the afternoon, it makes me feel alright. I smoke two joints in time of peace if we elect Ron Paul! I smoke two joints b4 I smoke two joints...and then I smoke two more...

Fact, Ladies and Gentlemen The president can end the drug war on his own. (US CODE TITLE 21 SECTION 811) http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/21/811.html

Obama WILL not do it, Mitt Romney will not do it, Rick Santorum will not do it, Rick Perry will not do it, Newt Gingrich will not do it. Ron Paul is the only choice for marijuana smokers in this specific election for president in 2012.

Gary Johnson and Ron Paul are the only Republican candidates who agree with this stance, the majority saying they will not stop the federal raids, as other pain management options need to be researched and explored.

Ron PAUL said:
You can at least let sick people have marijuana because it’s helpful. But the compassionate conservatives say, well we can’t do this, we’re going to put people who are sick and dying with cancer and are being helped with marijuana if they have multiple sclerosis — the federal government is going in there and overriding state laws and putting people like that in prison.
RON PAUL said:
I think the federal war on drugs is a total failure. The drug war is out of control. I fear the drug war, because it undermines our civil liberties, it magnifies our problems on the borders — we spent like over the last 40 years a trillion dollars on this war and, believe me, the kids can still get the drugs. It just hasn’t worked.

RON PAUL said:
In the last 30 years, we have spent hundreds of billions of dollars on a failed war on drugs. This war has been used as an excuse to attack our liberties and privacy. It has been an excuse to undermine our financial privacy while promoting illegal searches and seizures with many innocent people losing their lives and property. Seizure and forfeiture have harmed a great number of innocent American citizens.

Ron Paul Is the only one that also support hemp and has fought for it for decades just like he has fought against the drug war:

Deprave I think you're not even telling people the correct reason to vote for Paul...the best reason is because he's actually not pro or anti marijuana...he's totally against telling people to live their lives in general as long as they arnt harming another person.

I think anyone being pro marijuana legalization is the right reason no matter what because we are talking about peoples lives here. People go to jail for this shit, sometimes for a long time. Lives are ruined because of criminal records. Terminally ill are forced to suffer through the end of their lives when there is a natural plant that can make things much better.

The issue of marijuana is very real to the people of America and needs to be treated as such.

As a fellow libertarian I do understand where you are coming from, but it needs to be expressed that no matter your political ideology, marijuana prohibition is extremely damaging to the people of this country.

Hey man I support Paul (as much as I can as a Paddy ;) ), but under his system there never would've been prohibition in the first place cos for as long as he's been in Congress he's been against telling people how to live their lives. He's not pro-pot or against it, he just thinks it's a non-issue cos what he really believes in is the real reason to vote for him...FREEDOM!! (cue Mel Gibson ALA Braveheart).

i was gonna merge this into the ron paul thread, but there aren't too many of these hanging around right now so i'll let it be.

just read the page you linked and the word president isn't even in there... so according to what you just cited, you are incorrect.

it says the Attorney General may choose exclude any substance.. it just has to be stimulant-free, depressant-free, and non-hallucinogenic, and not identified as a narcotic.....and who identifies drugs as narcotics? the FDA and DEA... .... good luck getting weed to fall into that category.....

And who do you think appoints the AG? Someone like minded. Like maybe the President?

Thanks Harkin, Yes that's the point it can be done with executive order. In addition, the president does appoint the AG.
