Smoking While Preggers

Just chill.
i mean, you know sperm is produced 30ish days before it's ready?

So whatever was in the dudes system 30 days will be in the sperm he is jizzin out.

I'm not saying weed has a bad effect or anything, it'll just leave traces of it in his primordial junk.

I don't know where i'm going with this, i just found it useful/amusing information. :)

Nice one man, good info.

You never see a guy going without smoking for a couple of months before getting a girl pregnant "for the good of the baby".

Well saying that Downs syndrome is caused by smoking weed is as dumb as it gets.
I was just using birth defects as an example. I could have easily used stunted growth as an example but I wanted the shock factor of downs.. Which was obviously silly of me.
It's obvious that you're so defensive over this subject because you smoked for your second pregnancy and don't want to think you were irresponsible by doing so.
Well look, it's not my problem if you feel bad that you put your baby at risk. But you did.
Just because everything turned out ok does not mean you didn't take a risk by smoking.

Yes it would have been much better to puke my way into a miscarriage? I already puked my way into almost losing my first child, I should have just sacrificed the second one too? Maybe YOU are one of those babies whos brain had slices cut out of it?

You basically are saying that you'll believe a lie, as long as it supports your cause. Are you sure YOU don't have downs syndrome?

So guys, anyone out there stop smoking before you get your girl pregnant "for the good of the baby"?

Also I am looking for pics/horror stories of messed up pot babies.

Anyone?

Bueller?

I just don't understand why you would be so defensive in your posts unless you, at least a little bit, didn't believe it was 100% safe.

Yours seems to be a valid medical use.
But would you honestly say it's a good idea for someone who is having a perfectly normal uneventful pregnancy to smoke weed.

Why take the risk?

If you aren't using it for medical reasons, then no I wouldn't recommend it. No one said party hardy while pregnant.

I'm also waiting for men to say if they would stop smoking for 2 months prior to impregnating for the sake of the baby.

It's so easy for men to say, do this, don't do that to women, but when you put the shoe on the other foot their argument changes.

I'd like the answer to this, too.

Well here's something you should definitely NOT do if your girlfriend is pregnant. You should definitely NOT celebrate this great happening in a jacuzzi. You should definitely NOT give her a lot of wine, and you should definitely NOT give her a lot of energy drinks or a lot of coffee. These things can cause a miscarriage.

Remember... That's what you SHOULDN'T do if your girl happens to be pregnant and you planned on keeping it.

Just thought I'd share some things NOT to do if you say... Accidentally knock someone up and they are going to keep it.

;)

A planned pregnancy? Absolutely I would.
No question.
But I am not a regular smoker. I smoke maybe once a fortnight.
So I wouldn't really be missing out on much.

If you're saying you'd like to induce miscarriage during early pregnancy, google shepherd's purse, black cohosh, blue cohosh, or pennyroyal.

I would never even think of doing such a thing.
I'm just making sure everyone is careful.:hump:

well i know this thread is old but thought id throw my 2 cents in i did alot of reading on this actually and i read a study that was done somewhere in france or britan or something i dont remember the website and am to lazy to look it up lol but the study was done on humans and i read some of the responses on this thread asking what the negative effects are.. the study showed that more than half of the pregnant women who smoked during their 2nd and 3rd trimesters had smaller babies and something like 40% had asthma the women who did not smoke only 6% of the babies had some sort of problem when born. i do not condone any drug use during pregnancy but also dont think it is wrong to have a puff every once in a while to deal with sickness.. with that being said i myself would never take the risk knowing there may be even a minute chance that there could be some sort of difficulty or problem that i could have prevented by not smoking for 9 mths.

Yeah I looked up on some videos and such about this matter since I started the thread... None of the results of the experiments show consistency in favor of with or without smoking while pregnant... I'm gonna have to say that I believe cannabis is actually harmless to the fetus, but that I don't know for sure...The only thing keeping be from being positive is the fact there is no solid proof .. So I would be mindful with my smoking if I was pregnant in the same sense as I would be with what food I eat... I wouldn't stress over it like I would with any kind of pills or of course alcohol...

Are you pregnant?
Oh hell no lol ....:eyesmoke:

Yale Nurses did a large well designed study in Jamaica recently, no correlation found with neg outcomes and smoking mj during preg. Actually that data leaned a little the other way with lessy fussy and needy babies. Google it if you want to read a quality research paper. If you can't find it let me know and I will

IMO anything the mom ingests .... the baby ingests. If cigarette smoke gets to the baby then I'd say MJ smoke gets to the baby too.

I guess the question is: would you take a hit of mj and then blow it in an infants face (in the same fashion used to get pets high)? If the answer is no, then I'd say smoking mj while pregnant is essentially the same thing.

My sister smoked weed the first few weeks of her pregnancy.... because she didn't know she was pregnant. She stopped the minute she found out. Her daughter was born without any problems.

okay, but you can still get high other ways? like baking goods?? or something? but not necasarily smoke it. you can still get the body high from cooking with weed.

thc still gets into your blood, and your blood is shared with the fetus.

I just don't see how it could hurt the fetus ... I'm aware that the thc is in the blood, blood is shared with growing fetus and what not... But thc doesn't harm a grown person at all in any other way than taking a toll on the lungs if smoked.... I think about the thc itself actually harming the growth of the fetus, and it doesn't make sense to me... The only way that would make sense is if you honestly believe that weed has direct damaging effects on the brain...

Does weed damage the brain? There is no conclusive evidence of this either.. If it really did, then it would have been undeniably shown to us by now, yet there are still mixed opinions on the whole matter thanks to the common misconception that weed is dangerous.. only because it's illegal and called a drug...
