SMUD guy wanted to go to my backyard

Does anyone one know if I'm suppose to let the SMUD guy to go to my backyard to see if the trees need some trimming off the power line?

You have to let them on your property as they have easement rights to service the polls. I have had them come in and trim the trees right above my grow. For the most part they don't care about what you are doing back there. I would just let them know you can't let them back because you are leaving the house and the dogs will be out. I made them schedule an appointment with me so that I could be there for the job. They are looking at the trees that are hitting the top lines in your yard.

thank you angryblackman, I let the guy in and he say they will come in 4-5 weeks to trim it and will call me a day before they trim the branch off the power line. Hop they don't mess with my girls or tell the cops to come mess with me even though its a legal grow I dont want to deal with cops.

You may be able to stall 'em or tell 'em God said to FUCK OFF! I made PG&E give me a days notice on the trimming and moved my plants indoors for the day. I didn't really have to move 'em indoors. But the less people know I am growin', the better :hump: And the trimming gave my gals an hour more of afternoon light ;-) Even if you can't move 'em, if yer legal you have no problems. :eyesmoke: And if yer gals are lookin' like mine, there may be no plants for the trimmers to see in 4-5 weeks :weed:

Stick a gun in his face and tell him you'll blow his brains out if he opens his fucken mouth! Or you could just never answer your door. Your choice!

Thats about the most ignorant reply so far. I am sure he will just walk away after you threaten to kill him. May I suggest you lub up your anal opening for your prison sentence.

lmao

I wouldn't chance anything, I'd get rid of the plant. He might see it, not tell police, and come back in the night to clip your buds.

Don't even worry about this. These utility crews probably see a half dozen grows every day. I guarantee they do not give one fat shit about your plants. I do work similiar to this and have for years. Occasionally I have to go into peoples yards. From experience I would say that at least 10 percent of residences have plants that you can easily see. Worry about tweakers, high school kids, or the proverbial "friend of a friend". That's who's gonna rip your plants, not some workin' guy who more than likely has a couple of plants of his own.

I worked doing arbor care for about two years. I know several "ground guys" who could be standing right next to pot plants, and have no flipping idea that it's not just another weed. Obviously, I would worry more about a lot of plants, or big plants. If they are small, cross your fingers and hope for the best?

the easement is only 7-10' off the street for a residental neighborhood

Does a street run past the back off your house ??
Utility poles extend to the rear of the property in alot of older areas. They also have easement rights there as well.

If you are 4-5 weeks out you should be harvesting by then with only a few stragglers unless you went sativa dominant. :)

Our electricity meter is in our back yard, so the power company requires a key to the gate of our 7 foot fence so they can check it. Our garden isn't visible from the utility pole where the meter is located but the guy has to be able to smell it. I watched him through the blinds the other day and he just went to the pole, read the meter, then turned and left. I have to assume that these guys are busy and want to just do their job and move on to the next house. At least I hope that's the case :)

That usually is the case. You have to remember if they report it they have to stick around and wait for a supervisor and the cops to deal with it. They usually just want to finish their route and go home for the day. :D

I hope that never happens! With our weed laws being as they are in Washington I would hope that nobody would even bother reporting a few plants! We have a copy of my wife's medical authorization laminated and posted on the inside of a window by our grow so no real worries about police but it definitely would be a hassle if they came in the first place :)

I'd just worried about anyone knowing about my grow. First off, if it's a SMUD guy, you live in Sacramento, and it's against new ordinances to grow outdoors in Sacramento. Second, I'd be worried about them telling their friends about it. I read an article last year about a furniture delivery guy that would tip off his buddies to homes with nice items to steal. I would prefer no one knows......I would move them or cover them if I could......good luck
