And only two plants right now, just bag seed. I'm just playing around right now before I order seeds. You know, getting the hang of it.

get a balest and run it to the hole you have then liquid nail a reflective hood to the cieling and hang the bulb through and you will grow one hugh helth plant or 4-6 sea of green fat ass colas. would sugest 400 watt so not to melt the plastic but its a gread spot to grow a few plants. its the same size as where i grow my mother.

You're doing the same as me- practicing on some random bag seeds and then ordering some bangin' seeds to do it proper! I got some Misty strain seeds for when I grow the proper stuff.
As for the walls, I got some cheap hard-board from the hardware store and wrapped them in shiny silver wrapping paper which I'm told is very similar to Mylar. I then just stood them up in the shower cubicle. They act as a brilliant reflector of light - miles better then the tin foil I was using. That's a nice low-cost and non permanent way of doing it. It's also easy to hide it all in case of unwanted visitors. Check out my grow diary for photographs

I worked as a lighting tech in live theatre for several years and can tell you definately that matte white diffuses light more evenly over the area. I have tried both reflective mylar and matte white for growrooms and have had better results (more even lighting) with white.
that shit seems to be reflecting the flash pretty well...i wouldnt worry about using reflective shit unless you plan on growing there for awhile. some posterboard...the thick shit like everyone is saying it sold at the dollar store...its the best place to find shit for growing. Ive found some sweet green house things...like Jiffy makes for a dollar...where Jiffy sells them for way more! (i think its an outrage) They got baking pans that make great reflectors for cfl's and floros....and even HID lights because they have the thick baking pans as well....they have the wrapping paper shit you need as well...it will look alot like Mylar but its not. Grab some of that....some baking pans...anything you can find and report back in!

I made myself a new hood out of a sheet of aluminum. It has 12 cfl's lights under it now and I can expand to 24 if I need to
Took me about 2 hours to make and $100 or so worth of supplies (lights, chains, wires, etc)
Now I'm just trying to figure out if I want to keep them vegging under CFL's or if I should go ahead and buy an HPS or MH for VEG and flowering...

Looks good from what I can tell in the pic. Go for they MH for veg HPS/flower. you will get a much better yield. But if you can only get one I would go with the HPS, it's better for both.

HPS for vegging and flowering? Same bulb? Same ballast and all?
I can't afford an HPS and MH for vegging and flowering. Should I stick with CFL's for vegging and get something else for flowering or what?
EDIT: fuck it, I'll start a new thread about it =o
