So how many people use CO2 on their grows, and whats the results like?

i recently ditched co2 to return the simplicity of fresh air exchange.i have a relatively small grow and dont have dedicated air conditioning for it for so co2 didnt work out well for me. that being said i bought and refilled my 20lbs tank at the local welding supply store (airgas) and out of the aprox. 10 tanks i went through over the course of my experiment, never once did anyone ask me what it was for. nor did they ever ask for my name, as i paid in cash.

when i first started indoor, i got a CO2 tank. medium sized.

i used CO2 for the first 2 grows.

then one day i brought a newly filled tank into my kitchen. i set it aside and went to work on something.

all of a sudden, there was a sound like a hurricane in my house. the seal of the tank failed and all that CO2 rushed out in a few seconds. the tank slammed against the wall and left a dent.

i tossed it and will never use a tank again. those suckers are dangerous. if that thing would have gone off in my trunk as i was driving home, it would not have been pretty.

i wasn't legal at the time and the thought of explaining what happened to a cop was too much.

i had a closed system but when it came down to it, i noticed little difference in yeild. certainly not enough to risk injury.

You do realize that you are suppose to have them chained down at all times, for exactly this reason?!

Was the valve inspection up to date, or are you just here to scare the children?

Yes boys and girls, these high pressure tanks can do more than put dents in the walls. A 50lb pounder can go through a cement wall with authority. I've watched it happen before, scary because it happens so fast and there is no way you could move out of its way in time.

Chain them down properly, especially when you travel with them, so if a seal pops, all you get is a lot of noise. Being scared of using co2 because you think the valve is going to burst is like not wanting to ever go outside on the off chance a rouge bolt of lightning will get you, even on a clear day.

I had a 4500 psi air tank go off in the middle of the night, that was sitting in my paintpall gear bag. The same thing the seal went and sounded like a jet engine!

am i just here to scare children? wow. yeah, i make shit up about growing. i've been pretending to grow indoors for 19 years now.

i bought it and refilled it at one of the larger gas supply stores in town. it was in the corner of the kitchen as stable as it could be so fuck off with your lectures.

too many annoying assholes at a place where most of us should be high.

That's what I'm getting at. You just sat it in the corner of the kitchen without strapping it down, which isn't smart because of obvious reasons you learned on your own when that bottle went slapping around. Bad seals happen, sometimes from temp changes from refill stations to cars to homes, sometimes just a shitty seal.

I was ultimately trying to get people to see the need to strap their tanks down from your story of fucking up and not doing so, and also to reassure them that you do not need to be scared of a co2 tank just because of one little story, especially a story where the user of the co2 bottle used IMPROPER HANDLING methods that resulted in damage to their kitchen, which was you. Congratulations, you get to be the shining example of what not to do with your co2 bottle, which was forgetting to secure it properly.

And for my efforts to help others from making your mistakes, you called me an annoying asshole. Cute, but it only exposes you. But that's good, because I dont' want other people improperly handling a co2 tank and hurting themselves or others, and Im pretty sure when people read my response to your attacks, they will undoubtedly see that I am giving out sound advice over someone who is just using the internet to call someone names.

^^^I suppose you block your trucks wheels on flat ground too?
^^^No

But I do strap my tanks down other than when they are in my hands or on a hand cart. That way if a seal blows, I don't have some big fucking dent in my kitchen somewhere. But I do use wheel chocks on sloped ground. Many a dumbass whose loads got away from them on sloped ground always wish they had used a wheel chock as they watch their load race to the bottom of the ravine.

Dude, if you are going to take a stab at me, atleast use a sharp blade. Feel like you were trying to cut me with a block of cheese on that one.

you attacked me, asking if i was hear to scare the children.

then you get snarky about it. i've got more grows under my belt than most people and it amuses me when somebody lectures me.

you're a douchebag. i'm pretty sure those around you are well aware of it. :)

Well.pro grower, you are just gonna have to get over it. Besides "scaring the children" was not an "attack", you just used it as an excuse to come after me, probably because I called you on being irresponsible with a pressurized tank. Boo hoo if that hurt your feelings.

??? It WAS over, I made my point 3 days ago. Everyone had already moved on until you showed up and stirred the pot again.

I still stand by my comments. Strapping your tanks down is extremely important. It wasn't bashing on my part even though I was called names a couple times. I was trying to keep someone safe from that particular persons irresponsible acts, and I'm not backing down just because you showed up. 3 pages, uh no, it was a couple posts, Captain Hyperbole.

As it was 3 days ago, it IS over...unless someone else comes back and stirs the poo up again, geez.

My next evolution is the co2 generator, I just don't have the money for it just yet. The buckets were just something to help and watch and see so to speak. The generator is the best bang for the buck and a whole lot less work.

Wow guys. I must have it all wrong. Plants don't use o2 during daylight hours, only co2?...hmm. So why is every hydro system implementing some sort of way of adding o2 into the plant 24 houra a day? How great would our plants do sitting in water with no o2 in it. Or should I have my co2 tanks pumping into my res during the daylight hours? Shutoff my airpumps and airstones during daylight hours? ? That's is sarcams...I'm certian I need to spell it out for some of the dipshits here. Plants only use o2 at night??? Lmfao! I wanna learn how to grow cannabis, not read some basic general shit info from Wikipedia.
