so i have a stupid question

i germed 2 sets of seeds 5 of one 3 of another long story short ended up with just 2 now one is fat and bushy and one is very dense small vegatation

heres the stupid question i know i may have two different strain but i also took into consideration that ones male ones female?

also the small dense one at 5in is super skunky yet the big bushy one smells nothing

is there a reason one would stink so skunky yet the bigger one smells of nothing?
im only like 3 weeks in problems along the way build as i grew (bad idea)

both are exactly same height 5in

great question, i have a gdp in veg that has a nice smell, and i have a sour d in veg that has no smell. both female cuttings, so i think theres no way to tell sex by smell. good luck with grow.

is it bagseed or bought seed? 2 seeds off of the same exact plant could produce entirely different plants

it comes down to your strains, ultimately.
now, *maybe you have a male and a female, or two girls, or two dudes, you won't know unless you force flower somehow (unless they're autos). (i'm sure if you poke around there'll be some discussion of that on riu already)

it *might be that the size and rigour difference comes from a gender difference, BUT you can't know that until a) you know what sex they are and b) you find out the gender trait differences between the two possible strains you have.

the difference in looks, the difference in smell, i would attribute first to different strains. some are really *that different.

but i must admit that when i grow regular from seed, around preflower, the girls smell skunkier, and the boys smell like what i would imagine chloraphyll to smell like (probably actually has no smell)(and i definitely wouldn't pitch any out until i confirm male with pollen sack formation), my mom has grown from seed forever and swears she can smell the girls out?? wives tale perhaps

hey i know some old'n-the-dirt-they-grow-in oldsters that can do some pretty amazing stuff like that so i wouldn't chalk it up to an old wives tale but your mom probably couldn't tell you *how she knows, just that she does, right? (<- this is my experience with those instinctual talents, anyway. i know old dudes that can look at a table of just-flipped SoG and pick out The One everytime (because there always is one, although there's a part of me that wonders if i'm being set up into some sort of self-fulfilling selfconscious shenanigans....)
i have 'met' some smelly dudes, too, though, so idk.....

Yep, she "just knows", she's probly been growing since the late 60's, so I give her credit (where credit is due). The best part of her plant sexing is the random vulgarities that she comes up with when finding a male (little bastard), with his balls (pollen sacks), trying to bang (polllenate) all her swelled up girls.

omfg, i have WORKED under your mom.... my next-in-chain-of-command at the single largest show i've ever worked on was a renegade hippy lady just like that. i learned so much from her.
sorry to get OT, king: do you know what strains you're possibly working with?

unfortunatly no ive been building as i go and been battleing heat ph nutes the whole time (first time hydro) so im using so real good grade mids bag seed i know i nkow every thing is about genetics but i couldnt see wating 25-50 euros on a few seeds that may herm or die untill i get the hang of it im using what i like to call mystery seeds
