So i trimmed and supercropped the crap out of this one. Hopefully i didnt take too much off. Im going to try and do the other ones like this but do it in like two sessions. I will wait and see how this one reacts but i took quite a bit off. This is my first time super cropping and i am loving it. What do you guys think?

Fan leaves are like solar panels for your plant. Theyre essential, let them fall off naturally!:bigjoint:

Please dont trim fan leaves any more. Like the other user already said, they provide your plant with energy.

Have you ever taken time to look at the shaded leaves? Did you notice that they're still a healthy green and growing fine? Its because light passes through the leaves, therefore stop pruning! :)

The next time you get a wild idea in your head, stop and think "Do I know whats better for my plant than Mother Nature?"

So heres an update.

For some reason its started to turn a really light green color. It doesnt look like it too bad in the picture but when they are all together it sticks out like a sore thumb. It seems to be growing fine but this light green color cant be normal. I watered with nutes right after i trimmed. Is there any way i used too many nutrients? What is going on here? I have alot of other ones and this is the only one doing this. Is it because i took too many fan leaves?

Fox farm soil
Fox farm veg nutes, 1 tsp per gallon
ph of water going in was like 6.5 and came out like 6.0

heres another update

seems to be doing fine but i think im either under feeding or over feeding... im not sure. It seems to be growing well but not all the leaves are healthy. Its kind of hard to see from the pics but some leaves have copper spots on them and some are really light green on the ends. I was looking at the nute def thread and the light green looks like a zinc def to me. Hopefully i can get this all sorted out because im on day 3 of 12/12 and i really dont want to fuck up during flowering.

Well you cut off the fan leaves which provide the plant everything it needs to survive. What did you expect would happen?

Can I just ask why? Lst can give u the same effect without completely fucking ur plant up. That looks like when I spaced off while mowin the lawn after an intense oil session and clipped half an la woman.. Though it survibed so u know it will at least pull through. Seems very overkill tho

Magnesium (Mg) deficiency:
Magnesium deficiency will exhibit a yellowing (which may turn brown) and interveinal chlorosis beginning in the older leaves. The older leaves will be the first to develop interveinal chlorosis. Starting at leaf margin or tip and progressing inward between the veins. Notice how the veins remain somewhat green though as can be seen in figure 15.
Notice how in figure 16 and 17 the leaves curl upwards like they're praying? They're praying for Mg! The tips may also twist.
This can be quickly resolved by watering with 1 tablespoon Epsom salts/gallon of water. Until you can correct nutrient lockout, try foliar feeding. That way the plants get all the nitrogen and Mg they need. The plants can be foliar feed at ½ teaspoon/quart of Epsom salts (first powdered and dissolved in some hot water). When mixing up soil, use 2 teaspoon dolomite lime per gallon of soil.
If the starting water is above 200 ppm, that is pretty hard water, that will lock out mg with all of the calcium in the water. Either add a 1/4 teaspoon per gallon of epsom salts or lime (both will effectively reduce the lockout or invest into a reverse osmosis water filter.
Mg can get locked-up by too much Ca, Cl or ammonium nitrogen. Don't overdo Mg or you'll lock up other nutrients.
....................................................................
check the PH ,and like it says here don't over do it ,don't over do anything you've got a great looking plant there with a strong frame and great potential keep it up ....rob

Thanks rob. It's looking hella good. Not perfect but almost all the growth shoots have reached the top. And to the guy who asked why, I know it looks a little extreme but I have 17 other ones that I have just topped and lsted. This is my experimental plant. Just for fun. If this was my only plant of course it would be dumb to take all the fan leaves like that. I just wanted to see what would happen. And so far I am not disappointed. We will see how it does in flower. I'm on my 12/12 now so I will post some more pics of this one every two weeks so you guys can see how it's doing. Peace
