he left after the mall closed, and after my wife fed him. he should be home shortly.
fdd's pretty much implying that either way, any decision he makes, he still benefits. dont give your kids something for nothing, they will never appreciate it.

why would you even do this? in either situation you lose money. only time my parents really ever gave me money for anything was prom, 20 bucks here and there just to get me out of the house, but if I wanted something I had to save for it.
much less beg and plead for a ride to where I wanted to go. Sometimes they'd give me some money and no ride.
Ill give them credit though, for the important things, they did take me places and pick me up, even if they bitched me out the whole way that I shouldnt depend on them to give me rides places.
well fdd, my dad used to give me 100 bucks a month to spend however i pleased. I always said I appreciated it, and I did. But then the recession thing happened. and I realized I never truly understood what he was giving me until it is all gone. Im problably thinking this way because well, i've been poor off and on my whole life, and its just so weird to get money from my parents, i barely ask for anything at xmas, or my birthday, even now that we are doing better finanically. I didnt learn this lesson until I was 14
your not very smart for a college student.. he is giving him one chance to see how he manages money and a life lesson in the end to save money or not buy anything not needed.
didnt you say your parents never gave you any money or anything except for prom....smh.
im talking about my mom and stepdad. And yes, they never gave me shit after I turned 14. So in the four years between 14 and 18, they never gave me money for shit except for the aforementioned reasons.
they gave you a roof above your head?a place to sleep, shower, hang out and clothes. apparently thats nothing in todays world...
we're talking about frivolous spending money, not the basics. which is the whole point of this thread. dont get it twisted.
and they had to work hard to give us the basics, and still somehow made miracles happen at xmas, (im not talking fancy miracles) but like they made sure we had presents under the tree. They may have not been fancy, and they may have been nessacities (clothes, a pair of 40 dollar shoes, some body wash) but I dont begrudge them not giving me money.
it seems foolish to give a child so much money and then reward them for not spending the money with even more money
he just called and said they were going to "try to get into another movie".
his mom taught him that one.
his son is not a child, fdd's son is a teenager. now's a good time to teach life lessons, don't ya think?we're talking about frivolous spending money, not the basics. which is the whole point of this thread. dont get it twisted.
