So, I threw a seed into a pot....

I got a small bag from an older gentlemen (family friend) from his personal harvest. He's been growing outside for years. He has a lot of land so it's not a huge problem to pull off. So, I find a seed in the bag and planted it for the hell of it....just to see what happened. Well, low and behold, a marijuana plant started to grow(who woulda thunk it?).

Now, this was some time ago. I don't remember precisely the time-frame, but it's been a little over 2 months as to my guess. Somewhere around mid April. I live in New England, so I'd say that I unknowingly planted this thing right at the perfect time...because I'm aware that you gotta wait till frosts have passed. I wasn't really too concerned about what time of the year it was when i threw it in the soil, it was more or less a "fuck it" type moment, so i guess i got lucky.

It's been outside it's entire existence, just pretty much growing naturally....so no 24/0 or 18/6 cycles, been pretty much ~12/12 (which kinda sucks, i know). I've hit her with a little water here and there during the drier times. Other times it rains for 3 or 4 days straight and she's good for a while. Actually, "she" is still kind of a question. I like to think it's a female, because i don't see any sacs, but i also don't see any hairs coming from the pistils yet either.

I want to top the plant. I've been a lurker/researcher here for a couple of weeks now, but i still don't know if it's too late to top.

I tried to get another picture of the entire plant, but it wouldn't work for some reason. I'll get some better and closer ones soon. I'm about to transplant her into a 5-Gallon bucket. It looks healthy, is about a foot and a half, and all natural. Haven't applied any nutes or anything...just water. Suggestions?

I would wait til you find out its a female then top it.
Can you try to get a closer picture of the nodes?
