So Many Nutrients. Which Do I Choose?

I'm new to hydroponic growing. I have the basic concept and have a self watering hydroponic set up in progress. I have been looking into nutrients and there are so many options. General Hydroponics is good, highly recomended and decently priced but too complicated for a newbie like me. I have it narrowed down to 2 that I'd like to try.. Fox Farm and Advanced Nutrients. I have enjoyed some of the product that comes from Fox Farm so I know it produces results. But then again I have nothing to compare it to... I'm drawn towards AN because of the PH Perfect promise. If I go with FF I will be using Big Bloom, Grow big and Tiger Bloom. Also adding Open Sesame, Beastie Bloomz and Cha Ching. If I go with AN I will be using what they call THE BIGGER YIELDS FLOWERING SYSTEM™ - HOBBYIST GROWER LEVEL which includes: Either Sensi A & B or 5 in 1 Grow Micro and Bloom, Voodoo Juice, Big Bud, B-52 and Overdrive.
Is there really a difference as far as Ph buffers go? Am I getting more for my money with AN? They really aren't that much more expensive. In fact I've seen them cheaper than FF on ebay.
Anyone using either of these? Am I overlooking a great product? I don't really want to get too complicated with the nutrients and ph until I have a lil more practice.
Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!

i am using GH , red, green and orange/pink along with Tiger Bloom and Kushie Kush with CoCo Wet as my wetting agent and I am using the receipe and feeding schedule available on line at their website or it comes with your order.

General Hydroponics could not be simpler. Use the lucas formula. 5ml/gal micro, 10 ml bloom/gal veg. Top off with RO water between changes,7-10 days. No additional nutes until water change with fresh nutrients. about 7-10 days. 8ml/gal micro, 16 ml bloom for the flowering cycle. You do not need to add any of the fancy named additives. The plant will grow plenty well without the addition of anything else.

AN 3part system with overdrive and thats it.

I dont know if they have the ph perfect line out yet, better be sure. Im using the older stuff and use their phdown with no issues. Stepped up my game since then, but had good results with the simple 1:1:1 formula and the OD. My tap water has calcium in it, so maybe I wouldve needed it if running r.o. water? Anyhow, I dont know whats the best, I just know that the AN 3-part worked very well for me, just followed the older calculator, and set the PH.

Has anyone actually seen a bottle of this PH perfect yet? I bulked up on my last original AN line just in case the PH perfect didnt work so hot. Figures once i get the ph issue figured out, they claim to bypass ph. Either line of nutes is fine, just keep it simple.

Pointswest is right. You'd handle the AN nute line-up in a very similar fashion. Guess its like askin' what type of cologne you prefer.

Looks like a tad burn about 2 weeks ago huh joc? About 3rd week into flower? Man I ALWAYS burn mine about then. Or perhaps you think youve another issue? Just curious, sry to hijack.

General Hydroponics is so easy to use. Just follow the schedual. NASA uses GH nutes in space.

I don't see anything about a lucas series on GHs website. Does anyone know if 32 oz flora series is enough to see a crop to harvest using a 20 gallon resevoir?

Actually the ph perfect version of the Sensi series is set to be released 8-15, as well as a Bigger Yields Hobbyist Bundle which includes Voodoo Juice, Big Bud, B-52 and Overdrive. You can get all these on ebay. The bundle through AN saves like $30 by offering buy 3 get 1 free. Although I did read on their website that if you use the current Sensi line along with the items in the hobbyist bundle that you can achieve ph perfect technology. I was going to wait until ph perfect hit the market but I really don't need to as I can get the same results with what is already available. I can get everything mentioned above for about $200 on ebay. Not bad if it does a complete grow cycle.
I am still torn tho. I do hear very good things about GH from fellow newbies, experienced growers and everyone in between. I can use the Flora series (gallon size) with kool bloom for a fraction of ANs liter price. So my question is Does price help determine quality when it comes to nutrients??

someone on here recommended a box set called the Recipe for Success. It's $33 and comes with BC grow, BC bloom and BC boost, thrive alive B1 red and thrive alive B1 green, awesome blossom, sugar daddy, and magiCal. I have had zero problems with it and it seems to be decently priced. I think the company that makes it is hydroflora

Advanced is a lot of hype but i think it is better than GH. That being said it cost more than 2x the amount of GH and the results are not 2x better. But it is like anything in life...you can guy the audi R8 or the Subaru Impreza...both are very nice sports cars, both will get you where your going in a hurry. Sure the R8 cost 2x as much and it is not 2x as good but it is definately better. Basically just cause you spend 2x the money the results will not be 2x as good... and in this instance i would say maby 10% better. but if you got a big crop.. that is a big 10%.

Thanks everyone for all your replies and advice. I have chosen to go with GH Flora Series with KoolBloom. I read on their site to add KoolBloom dry to the mix the last week or so of the flowering cycle for an added boost. Has anyone tried this?

I've been using kool bloom dry the last 2 weeks and definitely not sorry about. I use about a gram a gallon. I do also use the liquid weeks 2-7 of flower.

Liquid koolBloom is nothing more than a more potent version of FloraBloom. Keep that in mind when using koolBloom with FloraBloom as the GH feeding schedule will roast your plants at their suggested doses.

Well if the hype gets results they can have my $$
Yup. Their marketing is what caused me to try out Advanced Nutrients, but then the results are what keep me buying them again and again. I mean, if they sucked, I would find something else. Wouldn't anyone?

I buy them because I like them and they work. Sure, I could be saving money by using some crap like Miracle Grow, but I've smoked plants that have used other nutes - and they just don't compare.

I'm the first person to want to save money, but at the cost of quality? That sounds like a bad idea waiting to happen.

For the dude that started the thread:

I'd suggest Grow-Micro-Bloom and Bud Candy to begin with. See how it works for you. And you find cheap or discounted bottles online so you can even save money that way.

But I'm guessing you're going to stick with AN. They just work. I don't want to knock anyone else, but this is my experience and I think it's worth sharing.

Care to share some pics of the 'quality' AN is giving you at top dollar?

A fellow industry member has basically proven on another board that "blazingtimes" and "hookahma", are both spam accounts (along with dozens of others) created and written by Big Mike of Advanced Nutrients to defend negative posts about his products. Read some of their posts and you definitely see a pattern. Just an FYI...
