So my new white widow seeds come in 2 days ago and most have their little tails out so im thinking perfect i'll plant them tonight and by 6am turn on the lights to begin their cycle. But reading this forum constantly for the last month I learn 1 thing, check the soil for bugs. So as im checking the "scott premium" soil i see a bunch of mites crawling around. Good thing I didnt put it in their but now im 100% sure im not going back to that home depot. Do i go to walmart and by the same brand potting soil or do I just use a different brand all together?

Microwaving works, just make sure you got it ALL microwaved. THOROUGHLY. I'd wait a couple days, and microwave it again just to be safe, then bake the crap out of the soil.

also don't water as much when the soil is wet, the fugus knats larva appear as for spider mites and other bugs just use spray. walmart has a spray that you can use up to the day of harvest.

Also, if you want to not worry about fungus gnats, once you get your plant established and it's a couple of inches tal, put down an inch of sand across the top of the soil.
