So now that my girls are finally starting to flower, do I need to defoliate?

I haven't been back to this thread in several weeks. Thank you all for your replies. I did do some thinning of lower leaves, but I didn't defoliate. These plants are getting over 8 hours a day of direct sunshine ( I love my wife... ) I'm thinking I've got several weeks of flowering time yet, so hopefully the buds will get bigger. I have not seen a lot of growth there... How do these look? View attachment 2720725

Get ready to trip on me...first off why wud u remove 2/3 of the plant??? Ever heard of supplemental lighting. If outdoors minimal to no defoliation is necessary. And the part about the plant being stressed and producing more resin and subsequently more thc is pretty true from the hundred different sources I've read(okay maybe
not hundreds but u get it). Not BS! I wouldn'trecommend extreme defoliation if not
trained during veg but start with like 30-50% of
fans and lower leaves on branches that are
blocking air and light. Then if u want u can try
this...IMG_20130701_104829.jpgIMG_20130629_170037.jpg this
is 17 days into flower I got good cola and the one pic is my bottom most branch I got 35-40 of these and a nice cola....do the math..
