The appropriate thing would of been to tell the cop that your kid is autistic. Maybe have the kid wear a wristband that says that?
I could see concerned citizens calling the cops alot if your kid frequently screams for his mom when he is with you. Having identification for yourself and your son would clear shit up real quick.

I just wanted to walk with my son on the pier. Then I get threatened by a cop that they'll wrestle me to the ground. Just because I told them to get lost. I was bothering no one. I was minding my own fucking business. I have autism too.
