let me hear it from the hydro community.. from growers big and small. east coast or west. what hydro systems are in your grow room? what are you plants yeilds and sizes? what method is your preferance, and why? please feel free to post pictures.

I am not a pro, I can't say my set up is perfect, but I do well with it certainly better than most indoor soil growers. I use a PowerGrower Eco, it's a bigger version of a water farm and my yields for one plant run between 10-16 ounces. So I call it a 13 oz average, that's based on my lowest successful grow was 10 oz and my best was just shy of 16, with a few each in the 12 - 15 ounce range.

I grow in a stealth cab from home depot, 20 inches deep x 4 feet wide x 6 feet tall. Hardware is 400 watt MH/HPS Lumatek Ballast, a 180 cfm inline fan cooled hood bringing a/c air from the room through the hood and back out into the room, air exchange/filter is another 180 cfm inline fan. Cab temps are around 5 degrees over ambient room temps. I am a fan of the SCOTTYBALLS method of growing https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/344359-pineapple-express-g13-labs-seed.html

Imagine walking into a bar as a total stranger in the arse end of redneck county and shouting....... "yo yo mother fuckers..... who's gonna show me how to brew moonshine"
So the forum is the bar and the OP the total stranger and we are the redneck emmeffing moonshiners? I don't get it...

It's a forum! Well, supposed to be anyway... could have been a great thread if it were.

what hydro systems are in your grow room?
Small DWC for germinating en prevegging, and flooded tubes in flowercloset

what are your plants yields
Yield so far the same as on soil, about 0.8-0.9 gpw, limited by by small grow space (3x4).

and sizes?
Well, doing LST thgis round, about a week on 12/12 and my plants are about 12 inch tall. That takes effort, to keep 'm that low. Last round I had branches closing in on 60inches. (Had some stretch issues, partly because of underestimating hydro vegpower.

what method has your preference, and why?
Flooded tubes. Because I don't have an issue if some sprayers get clogged for a few days, continues circulation and aeration, low maintenance. And I like the look :)

please feel free to post pictures.

Come on now, you must have just got a bit off the wife and doubled your yield to be so fogiving. A new member strolls in with a 2 line post asking everyone to bare all. You have a lot of time on your hands if you answer all new members like that.

No offence OP..... just a big ask with 2 lines of effort.

You're talking stupid nonsense... I don't care whether a member is new or not and me answering ALL new members like that is not a requirement for 'some' to answer instead of the trolling that's so normal around here. The number of lines is irrelevant as well, great threads are started with less text and it's the replies that make a thread....

Thanks  I love it when people here at RIU don't believe the yields I get :wall: while in local Dutch forums I'm still, at the very least, 0.10-0.20gpw short. Some people here talk like they know shit for years on RIU and still think 1gpw is exaggerated... keep telling yourself that dumbass trolling noob popcorn growers :finger:

i have encountered this on this site. then you see them posting "how do i clone" or what does "light cycle mean"

not starting just saying.....imo a g per watt is old news, i wana know whose pulling 2g per watt

first off im not a rookie to growing iv grown for a few years just always planting organic, outside bud. thanks sativied for your possitive feedback. im sorry im new to this forum?? i was just looking to start a dwc or ebb and flow setup and was wondering what people get the best results from? wanted to see what the yeilds might be to compare and put a yeild to a system. im not starting a series either. im just new to forums

I've never done ebb n flow but my impression is dwc is faster growth but more work and more suitable for massive scrogs with a giant root ball the size of a bucket, ebb n flo is more automated and more suitable for sog. Undercurrent is the shit if you want to automate dwc. Kinda up to you whether you can get more weight out of a sog or scrog.

Not a pro but only an amature thinks a certain style/system/nutes is the key to big grows.

Try strain and environment first.

well i have experimented with those factors. i started inside a few months ago and have 2 micro boxes run on cfls and has an exhaust and intake fan temps stay between 69 at night and 75/80 degrees durring the day with my ac. i have digital thermomiter and hygromiter. iv experimented with sativa and indica strains and i have my choice strains obtained. nothing i have asked reflects anything i know about growing or have experience with its just a thread. just looking for true yeild results from real people not what an add in some magizine or website bullshit.

Everything is relative to the environment. You grow in a cab, others grow in a warehouse. If you want grow porn, go on YouTube. There is a reason why there are so many sub forums. They all work. It's a poor workman who blames their tools.

So what is the definition of "professional"?

Webster says----"following an occupation as means of livelihood or for gain"

Ok, you quit your day job and decided to grow weed as your primary means of support and live at least a comfortable life-----and for many it's something they love doing. For me, coming from an R&D background, I prefer playing with high tech toys in a medium less aero system. I don't think any serious grower would ever say------there's nothing that could be better in my show----that's what makes it so much fun for me, otherwise it would become boring.

Everybody is different----so it's what system is "best" for them based on their skill, space, circumstances, capital, etc.

As for as yield----1 gram per watt every 60 days CONTINUOUSLY is par (which is extremely good). Or, 2 lbs per 1K flowering every 60 days and the only way I will believe 3 lbs from a 1K is if I manicure, dry, and weigh it.

I suggest the mission statement of every commercial grower goes something like this:

The most of the best product the fastest---with the least amount of risk, effort, cost, and space. (mostest of the besets the fastest with leastest risk, effort, cost and space).

As for pics----I've already posted on riu many from my archives.

A~~~

Cap. The best hydro system is the one you experience and tweak to fit your personal needs. Dwc is one of the of the easiest in my personal experiences. However, with this being said dwc is not for everyone take a couple different methods, also look into aeroponics, or other "hydro" soilless mixes

things that make dwc easier then just a bucket with water/nutes/airstone.

a valve near the bottom to help with draining (ph/tdc testing)
a funnel near the top to help with filling
a built in thermometer
in resevoir water movement device

for automation please look up industrial dishwashers and how they mix chems for cleaning. similar sources might be pop dispensers.

pc liquid cooling system to cool down the water if need be.

a pc hooked up to all of these to monitor, include cam for ease.

scrog for easiest height/yielding while not moving lights
