So what causes this grow pattern?

So what would cause a plant to begin to create individual bits of bud, rather than having the bud grow with these elements clumped nicely together as normal?

This is one of three Blue Mystic plants I have in this grow. Little over a dozen plants, five different strains, no other plant is having this happen.

This happened to me in the past when the plants got a bit too much "P & K"(K mostly I believe) in the bloom mix. But it happened to all the plants/strains in that grow, and there was an obvious reason. It throws one leaf and a little bud shoot, a 1/4"=1/2" space then another.

One plant, happening in the middle of robust, healthy plants, has me stumped... if it is just the plant, well, I chalk it up to Murphy, but if I did something wrong I would like to know what that was...heh heh heh

BTW it doesnt seem to affect resin production and it still makes great hash, but it is almost impossible to clean and cure normally.

I had similar results, from a nitrogen overfert, mid-flowering. It can cause them to re-veg, for lack of a better description, focusing on foliage growth, rather than building flowers(buds). I'd flush it and go with a low-N fert, til finished, although the damage is already done, mostly.

Now I am just trying to decide if I want to see how it does over time or just clipit...

I had a seedling that showed that trait.. all it's other sisters were normal.

I figured it was just a runt of sorts. Bad genes/mutation

It was cloned later on, and the clones showed the same thing so there was no reason to go further

well when life throws lemons, catch 'em and make lemonade! Took all those little strips of faux bud and rolled them into "thai stick". Made it about the thickness of a normal bud and have them in the jar curing right now. Here is a pic though it is hard to visually figure it out; and I'm not going to unravel it at this point as I threw away the stalk I made the string from; and dont want to mutilate a healthy plant for some hemp string...heh heh heh got about a half dozen sausage sized sticks from this.
