that explains it well .. interesting ... I didn't think you were going to need the fan to cool the drivers, but I guess you do ... i'm really curious to how your plants respond to the light change this late in flower, i bet they handle it well
Interesting, huh?
I don’t know if I “need” the fan for the LEDs since they have the pin heat sinks, but it’s recommended on their website. As usual, I think I went overboard with fan size, but I wanted something commercial that would last more than 2-3 grows.
The plants are handling the light well based on the leaves. One of the benefits of this light spectrum is that the lux meter appears to be a good gauge for determining light distance. These plants are getting about 60-75,000 lux which is great for late flower. I’m hesitant to push it much more than that, especially this close to harvest.

On to the excitement of a new grow....seeds are soaking in RO water and I’m waiting 18 hours to drop them into Jiffy pellets. 5 strains in total, with a focus on Sativa-heavy strains or strains that run longer.

Nirvana Sour Diesel, Tangie, Black Jack, Raspberry Cough and Jock Horror.
Soil and coco grow (side by side comparison) I think....not sure I’m ready to hand feed 6 plants 2 times per day.
I will update again once we get into the jiffy pellets.

Today I planted the 6 seeds into jiffy pots and placed in the seed starter environment is set to 78 degrees (on a heatmat). The light is on for the picture, but I will leave them in darkness until they pop the soil. I’m hoping to keep these girls under these fluorescent lights for 3-4 weeks.

On the OG Kush, I wrapped twist tie material around the stakes to hold up the colas. They’re bending heavily now. No support needed for the Glue plants yet.

Looks awesome twalte! Can’t wait to see what you can do with those Timbers! Also very interested to see what your final impressions are regarding the UVB.

Thanks! I’m excited as well to see what the Timbers will do in flower as well! Unfortunately, I had to remove the UVB bulbs and I have no room to hang them, so I won’t be finishing the grow with UVB. I need to rearrange my lighting before the next grow to try to fit another 2 uvb lamps in the tent.

Ah, well bummer you couldn’t continue with the UVB, but still eager to see how you feel the Timbers finish up the grow.

The Seeds are showing promise with 4 out of 6 showing some signs of life. Hope to have all 6 sprouted by tomorrow.

The Gorilla Glue pistils say she’s almost done, but the trichomes are still clear and the weight isn’t quite there yet. I had to stake two plants to hold up the colas on two plants. The other two are not putting on weight yet.

Monday’s germination update.....4 of the 6 seeds have sprouted. It also looks like 1 of the 6 is starting to poke through the soil. I moved the sprouts to coco in solo cups.

This run includes Nirvana Tangie, Sour Diesel, Jock Horror and Raspberry Cough.

Also rinsing and buffering bricks of coco for this coco run. I don’t have access to an outdoor area, so doing this in the basement is a little messy.

On the Gorilla Glue....it’s Day 108. Starting week 9 since 12/12 flip. Feeding day today with NFTG....only half gallon per plant today. I’m not planning to flush before harvest, so I’m running reduced nutes to finish out this grow. 2 weeks to go.

Hope the other two seeds pop for you. I had one of mine take over a week to sprout (even though it had cracked open and had started to grow a tiny tail when I put it in the Rooter plug), so I’d just say to be patient and just have faith.

Plants are looking beautiful! And, I‘m with you on the issue of flushing. I know that some people adamantly insist that they can tell the difference between flushed and not flushed flower, but both from the blind taste tests that I’ve seen documented and what science tells us about the actual efficacy of flushing, it seems like a poor return on investment to deny the plant nutrients to grow during its last couple weeks of flower maturation. ‍

Plus, I grow organic anyhow, so I’m not really worried about ingesting chemicals. But even if I wasn’t I no longer believe that it’s possible to “flush” them out of the plant once they are in there.

Thanks for the update.

Thanks!! Your words give me hope....no activity yet on those two seeds and I had almost given up hope. I’ll keep my fingers cross. Germination causes me more frustration than any other part of growing. I don’t have a good track record with germinating seeds lately.

A quick seedling update on what I’m considering day 2 of veg for my tracking purposes.

4 of the 6 seeds have sprouted....Sour Diesel, Tangie, Raspberry Cough and Jock Horror. I planted another Black Jack seed in a jiffy pellet to try again. This time I did nothing fancy (no presoak....right into the jiffy pellet). The seeds are in the humidity dome and shaded from the light.

also attempting to monstercrop one branch from the flowering OG Kush. Some early roots showed up yesterday.....let’s see if she can survive.

Great news....I was able to get one UVB lamp installed in the tent. I’ll be running this for 3 hours per day for the final two weeks.

Wednesday Germination Update
Of the 6 seeds placed in the jiffy pellets last weekend, 4 of 6 have sprouted. I also placed one seed in a jiffy pellet yesterday, so hopefully I can get another sprout to join this grow. I’m also attempting to monstercrop one branch from the OG Kush. I also mixed up a bunch of coco (rinsed, buffered with CalMag, and mixed with perlite).

The Original Glue is on day 111. I hope to harvest her at the end of ten weeks of flower.....which is 10 days away. The trichomes will let me know if she is ready.

Gorilla Glue Update....day 112 (week 9 of flower since flip)

Stopped using Purpinator as I didn’t think it was giving me as much aroma as Terpinator. I switched to Dr. Who’s Terpinator recipe and I could smell a difference this morning. If you’re paying ridiculous amounts for Terpinator, this is worth consideration.

Here’s a few photos of the glue today. Unfortunately, she’s not ready to harvest yet based on the trichomes. I’m looking for all cloudy and a very few amber.

I’m also giving these plants 3 hours of UVB per day.
