So for my next batch I need to add sul po mag, the clays, azomite, glacial dust, gypsum, the other than that have it covered. Did you decide against the shovel of dirt from your yard rrog?

Maybe get some barley seeds while you're there. Sprout them. Use the sprout water and see what happens...
So I have barley seeds, but am having a hard time getting them to sprout. After the initial rinse should I keep them in the jar with water covering them, rinsing every 8-12 hours, or let them sit in the open air rinsing every 8-12 hours and keeping dry in between? The seeds are good, I threw some in some soil after I couldn't get them to sprout and I had grass days later.

2 tablespoons of seeds (1 oz.)
Soak for 12 hours. Drain that water and throw away. It’s full of growth inhibitors.
Add 1/2 gallon of water to the sprouts for the 48 hour soak.
Strain and use 1 cup of this to 1 gallon of water.

I do all that. I just have a hard time actually getting them to "sprout" the quarter to half inch long tail that we're looking for to soak them for the 48 hour soak. I'll keep messin with them.

Btw: No pumice or lava rock at any landscape yards around me in my part of the country. Perlite it is!!

Can you get the larger horticultural variety of perlite? You also could likely special order some, as these nurseries all receive product from a distributor.

I can get chunky perlite no prob. I'll pry a little more at some of the nurseries.

Well hopefully it is pretty clean if not my nematodes and BTI should clean it up right? Seems like it looks a little funkier this go, lots of BMI I bet.

Also I am to the point that I am going to be reusing alot of this dirt. I successfully have done it once but like it could have gone a littl better. Walk me through what you do wigh a spent plant if you don't mind. I want to say you said just let it sit for a week then cut a hole for new plant but wanted to be sure before I do it on a larger scale.

Nematodes, BTI, crab shell and Neem are powerful agents. Oh, and VermiCompost has huge insecticidal properties, both IN the soil and IN the leaves.

The recycling works but you have to add amendments a little at a time. I add a few spoons of EWC in a little well under my drippers every week. A little, but often. A little fish meal and a little kelp as you go. Some Comfrey is always good, just be careful for burn.

Yep. The soil can pack away (store) a lot of nutrients and adding more vermicompost simply adds to that storage capacity. So as long as you add a little but add it often, you'll be fine. EWC is the major delivery system.

That seems to be the going rate for EWC. ~$1.50 a pound. I'd sure recommend starting a little worm bin, then you can have all you want, better quality, for just about free.

Let us know what you think. Are you planting that Aloe? We all should have aloe plants growing

I have aloe but it would never produce enough to use it my garden. The plants did seem to like the root drench although I didnt see a huge difference but its only been a day and my plants were healthy and happy to begin with so didn't expect miracles. It will probably be something I add to the arsenal and use maybe 3 times during a plants life.

You mean to add some to your soil mix when starting a new soil? That would be good. Add some local soil to get the local microbes.
