So...you can't transplant Autos?

Thanks for the info I'm going to have to look more into this and do some more experimenting with transplantation of autos.
A very important step is getting your transplanting soil moist enough. Add 15% volume of water to the soil before transplanting. It helps to do this on a tarpaulin so you can get it evenly moist throughout the soil.

Wait until a watering day. Then you transplant. Water the new plant in and wait 5-7 days at least before anymore water. It’s best at this point to give a little water around the edge of the transplant whole as the roots can dry the core out faster than the new soil it’s been transplanted in to. Then after that 1 watering you can water the edges more and build up from there.

Practice makes perfect!

I’ve been transplanting my autos for 12 years. The one time I didn’t I had problems. Lol

Here are 5 Alien vs Triangle S1s I transplanted yesterday. I just don’t let them get bigger than this.

Later gators

If you were REALLY intrested in learning, you go back the last 20-50-100 pages here and look for titles of posts that intrigue you, and remember the names that GROW and HARVEST good autos and the guys that just troll because they don't(really means Can't) and than you'll have a better understanding of what is the truth and what is built on new growers or photo growers that don't really succeed at groing them. Enjoy this as ot is agreat grow. Familiarize a few growers in perticular like Buddy, Budzbuddah and McStrats just to start.
DEFINITELY NOT FRANK NITTY!!!

Nitty, you won't believe me but i was just wondering where you had been the other day. I neant to check your name to see when you were last on, bit I've been stressed. I'm smoking my bong and the minute I'm feeling the dream become a good high again, smoking back up. I definitely think I'm smoking 1/8 or so per day lately. Hope all is well man. Heard about that toxic train spill in the Buckeye state, thinking about you guys.

Haven't been around cause I don't have anything going right now, but decided to check in on things and lo and behold, Vivosun says that they have a light for me to test for them!!! Needless to say, I jumped all over it!!! So I'll be back at it soon!!!
Another light? You got BIG lips huh bro??? Don't feel bad. I haven't had a grow since October. Too cold and gas and electric went up here this winter. 18' might've been the last time i went more than a few weeks betwern groes. Definitely missing it.

48 hours from transplant and clear signs of growth in that time. In other words...no signs of stressing or stunting. I didn't use any special technique other than to follow the Mephisto grow guide. I'll post pics periodically but I think this shows a 4 out of 4 positive result for transplanting autos...well Mephisto autos anyway :bigjoint::bigjoint::bigjoint:View attachment 4119664
Were those in solo cups to begin with? If so how many days before you transplanted.

I put the seeds in a glass of water until I see the seeds start to open up. It then goes in a moist paper towel inside of a ziplock. It stays in the paper towel/ziplock until there's at least a 1" tap root. It then goes in a solo cup. The seed is almost visible, but the tap is buried facing downwards.

This is the method I use and I have 100% success with it. There are lots of other methods, but I stick to this one. I transplant to the final pot at 7 or 8 days.

These sprouted 2 days ago. I keep the light very close to stop them from stretching. Manipulating the light is a good way to even out the canopy without topping. I top photos but never autos. When I top a photo I just give the plant extra time in veg to recover. With autos, the clock is already ticking and you don't have time to let the plant heal.

. Thanks for your reply, even though I am still reading this post the information is great just started growing again about a year ago. A lot has changed. I really like the autos, back in the 70s we only had bag seeds and if not for some old hippie I would have never known how to sex plants and how get sensimilla. Thank god for the hippies from the 60s.

You are most welcome. I'm still learning myself. I started tinkering with growing in the early 80s. It was about 7-8 years ago that I took it indoors and built a grow space. Despite all that I still make mistakes.....and yeah, those 60s hippies provided the foundations for a lot of what we use today.

Happy growing :bigjoint::bigjoint::bigjoint:

i'm pretty new to autos. i topped and transplanted 3 of mine and they are doing just as good as the not transplanted ladies. all 6 different genetics loved the topping.

oddly enough, the far left back row plant was not transplanted. i'll call her too short.

This is an Alien V Triangle at 9 weeks. Its from a few years ago. Very even canopy and she wasn't topped. She yielded 4.5 oz (if I recall correctly). I find that by keeping a low-wattage light very close to the seedlings...that it stops them from being leggy...and they are also less inclined to show the Christmas tree structure.
