Agreed. The so called snake oil products are a ripoff. Though some people swear by them, I have not tried them. No one excepting Uncle Ben has offered a D.I.Y. method to body slamming your plants into flowering mosters. Being a noob myself, I would appreciate any knowledge any of you all could share regarding; What products to source the appropriate nutes, how to apply the nutes (outdoor, indoor, hydro, DWC, NFT etc.) Will a heroic dose of N do it? (i.e. 33-0-0 as per UB's technique)

Also anyone reading this, if you can answer the following please send me a personal message and befriend me.
Q: Hydro drip system in rock-wool. Today I began week 7 of the nutrient program as outlined by A.N. (expert level-whatever) I use a buffered pH down in powder form. kept adding a little and checking back in hour. the res solution would start out yellow when tested then an hour later dark green, indicating pH 8 or so. I adjusted again. And again with the same results. the pH would rise back to 8 in a matter of an hour. then I went and checked it after one final adjustment and it was down at like 4.5. My question is do I need to dump all these expensive nutrients I just mixed and start over? Or will simply correcting the pH allow the plants to uptake the nutes? To put it another way, is there a chemical change that occurs with these elements in pH extremes? (for hypothetical, fictional example: Zinc bonds with iron to create another element entirely) or is it just that the pH level makes the plant cranky and unwilling to cooperate until it's "terms" are met? i.e. correct pH. Thanks in advance.

Just wanna say thank you to UB. Definitely helping me save tons of $ and the most important thing is Helping my Plants stay healthier till the end. Thank you again for taking your time to explain the Bs that companies are doing to get rich and not give a shit about your plants. I know that they won't be getting my $ anymore . No more trips to the hydro store for expensive watered down nutes . To top it off our hydro store charges twice as anyone else does for their garbage. Time to change everything up and to see green leaves till the end of the grow ! You can say I am sucking up to UB and I am . Someone donates their time to share info that he doesn't have to deserves credit where credit is due. To all the haters on here good luck paying zillions of $'s for your shit and hopefully one day you will realize the truth. Plants have been growing for how many years ? They just gonna come up with all this new shit out of the blue? Think about it ? I am not saying that there won't be any break through later on , but I don't think that it will help that much to invest $50 for a bottle for . All I know is I am glad I read the posts by UB and everyone else that has figured out this scam and am now part of helping my plants and not wasting $ . I am here to help my plants grow better and help others with what I know. I use MJ as help with my DISH Disease for it's pain killing abilities and I am in the low income bracket and if I can have healthier plants with less $ and can drop shit that hurts my plants for more $, I am sure as hell gonna do so. Thanks again will keep everyone updated !
 
Why is everyone getting so angry this forum is for people to help people. He's telling you that you can grow if you choose without spending extra money on stuff (nice to know.) Everyone seems to be different even just between my friends and I. One thing will work for me and for whatever reason doesn't work for them. We are all still really knew though. Still putting out high quality stuff though, and looking to learn as much as I can. The nice thing about the advice on here is its usually from people that have actually done what they are talking about and had it work. The best argument is to grow something and show us just how your favorite product has worked. One of my first runs I did and organic plant next to one I was loading heavy with nutes. That was the last organic plant for me. She did well and yield was good. The other plant did much better for me more Trichomes and yield. So for me I knew what worked better. I hope to read more helpful information soon thanks UncleBen.

I also was under the impression that UncleBen had used the high Nitrogen product because he could tell his plants were becoming deficient in N. Was I wrong?

Come on. You sound like moveon.org. Note in your link just about all, including Dyna-grow, is in there? So I take it you are defending a bureaucratic agency and their screwed up regulations? Doesn't sound like you UB

I use sensibloom because it has fulvic/humics , amino's and a wetting agent should I choose to foliar spray. What other base has that? I get it for 57$/gal. and use it at 6ml/gal, comes out to 3$ a plant. What a rip-off !! Show me how I fell for the jive when I pull 3 1/4 to 4 oz a plant consistently and RX praise for taste and bag appeal.
I don't want to mix 15 different types of anal excreted matter, with unknown flying monsters attracted to it. I want to pour and be done with it. Perfectly fine paying for this convenience too.

The problem I have is that his help is very one dimensional. I'm pretty sure most of his knowledge comes from outdoor soil grows.

I'm pretty sure UB has never grown hydro, or has very limited experience with it. In hydro it's not all snake oil the way it might be perceived in soil.

In soil, you don't need an additive like Silica because it's well -- in the soil. In hydro, silica will indeed make quite a difference to the health of your plants.

UB doesn't really know it all, that's just the way he likes to come across.
 
Silica is in the soil? And by soil I mean the potting mixes most use. IE sunshine mix, pro mix ect...I dont think so. Outdoor mineralized soil yes. Hydro or soil a plant needs to eat the same things...
 
I can definitely understand the loyalty that some of the people out there have to their products. I feel the same way about some of mine. Its nice to know that people can achieve the same results with different methods. It would suck if everybody had to do everything exactly the same. I usually try to do something different from my friends just to see if it works any better. Until I find what works best for me I'm going to keep trying different methods. Being so new I have a ways to go.
 
UncleBen have you ever heard of BounTea, its suppose to be really great for outdoor growing. Year after year its suppose to make your soil better.
