Soap And Water

wtf questions:wall: ok so i'll see spider mites here and there, I used some soap and water and it seems like whenever I do it slightly burns the leaves. They're about 4 weeks, is this too early to be worrying about spider mites. And also should i stop with the soap and water cuz it seems liek since I tried that they're looking worse than prior to doing that. they have what looks like little rust/burn spots. And also, will overwatering cause drooping leaves and brown/yellowing of them?? I'm rather frustrated. I'm hoping someone responds to this. Pleeasseee!!!! Read this, hopefully someone has a remark. I'm pretty sure i overwatered a couple, they're real saggy and yellow looking

was just spanking some mites with alcohol. I used a q-tip and a mag glass just started dabbing them. I don't think I got them all but I can no longer see them. someone was saying 50/50 with water and spray the plant.

Check your ph levels. How much soap did you use to make your spray? I usually spray for mites while my lamps are off. It helps keep your plants from burning especially if your spray mixture has oils in it. It is never to early to combat mites. If you can control them now then they will be less of a problem down the road.

I don't know how much soap I used?? I'll have to look up a proper amount. What about neem oil i've heard that works well. I just wanna keep the problem under control as i go vs. w8ing till they're everywhere and then losing one of the girls or something. GAHHHHHH stressing, i'm sooooo a total noob to this shit. bongsmilie

first make sure you are using NON SCENTED BIO DEGRADEABLE soap.. if it has perfumes and dyes and shit that could easily burn your plant...

secondly i swear by neem oil.. i use it.. have used it on 2 large and 1 small infestation.. and always got GREAT results.. the biggest thing to remember if you use it is its not a contact killer.. it takes about 2 weeks to get an infestation irradicated... you make a spray with it and use it every 3 days... spray tops and bottoms of leaves thoroughly... i also add some to my water when i feed my girls... its just another way to administer it... neem oil actually works by messing with the hormones of adolescent and adult mites inhibiting their ability to reproduce.. it also suffocates eggs if you cover them with it.. and it also acts a deterant because pests dont like the taste of it... if you smell it you will understand why.. it is VERY pungent... just make sure you get 100% pure cold pressed neem oil...

hope this helped

yeah.. the soap actually helps imulsify the neem oil when used as a spray... since oil and water dont mix you can either constantly be shaking the container to keep it mixed or just get some soap like i said earlier...

its really easy to find the soap too... i think i have blue joy liquid soap... just like in every convience/grociery store carries... nothing special.. its just making sure it is non scented and biodegradeable are the most important things to look for..
