Just stumbled upon this while youtube surfing. Just click play, do what it says, without putting any forethought into it. If you read the comments it ruins the experiment. It's a minute and a half video, still doing research on it. Shocked me to my core. Check it out, post results.

while not trying to give away the answer, but perhaps people who use things on a daily basis as per the last question are more likely inclined to say something else

IE i have been currently working on my new home therefore the answer to my question happened to be something on my desk

I think the numbers are there to help rid yourself of any thought other than numbers, so your mind is clear to just name off whatever is in your head, rather than on the desk or in the workplace.

i get that but i think their percentages are way off no way 98% choose that. ill them 60% MAYBE and thats over exaggerating , and only due to both objects being very common things...like basic ...like baby child basic

Yeah im am taking the percentages skeptically, like almost everything else in this existence. I agree with you 100%. Too shady to prove that 98% of people get the same answers.

The red hammer came up too fast on the screen.... I had not picked my color... which was black... and tool..... never a red hammer.... I have used hammers a million times during the past.... never a red one... whatever it makes me... is bull shit... I'm already screwing in the screw with my black screwdriver.....

Lol! You guys are awesome, some of these comments really made me laugh! I thought red hammer aswell, when it popped up i was like woah, what the fuck is going on here?! Out of all the colors and all the tools i chose that?!

After some research it seems like the answer is pretty simple. It's a social and cultural experiment. It seems as if red is the most common color, and a hammer is the most common tools we think about if we think really, really fast. The numbers are there to empty our minds of anything other than, well, numbers.

Pretty damn cool and weird for those who do pick the red hammer. Weeiirrd!

My girlfriend got purple hammer... i think i'm fucked guys. She must be half psychopath. I always knew something was a little quirky about her, lmao!
