SOG from regular seeds?

I have 20 regular seeds, 10 super silver, and 10 pk.

I thought about SOG, but I am afraid that separating the males will hard work and I might fail.
Also, those are 2 different strains, is it doable?
Tent is 3X2, I thought on switching to flower after 3 weeks and leave 9 small plants.

I know 2 strains are not a good idea but I don't want to grow only the super silver.. just don't want to give up the seeds, I don't care to get low yield from this grow, as it not my main grow in this time of the year, just to experience with SOG and regular seeds. Usually I grow only feminized seeds, but I ordered that by mistake.

What do you think?
Doable or too hard?

If not SOG, what is the best way to deal with non feminized seeds?

Thanks

I don't think that I would trust even fem seeds to come up uniform enough for a SOG. Clones is the way to go. Sexing the moms would take a sex test or flipping after the clones are taken. $10 a plant or 6 weeks (from seed)to show sex. The female clones would become the moms for 4 or 5 clones to SOG. :peace:

OK I get it, SOG is best with the same mom... I am not taking this road its too much for me.
I give up the SOG.

So what is the way to go with regular seeds?
I don't have a place for full veg for more than 4 plants.. how can I do it for 10 seeds and stay with 2 big females?

Yeah find a good clone and work that for sog is what most do the reason besides u know what your getting is theres alot more chance of it being uniform in growth for the most part from seed you gonna see more variation and that includes with plant structure/vigour as well as effects too

You'll have to take the gamble. When working with regular seeds, time, is what you need, or as stated above, sex testing. The testing is the shortcut.
By sex testing you mean take clones from each plant, move them to flower and see sex, right?
The problem with that is its 20 plants and I can't wait too much with them as my tent is 3:2.

By the time I can safely see sex from clones they will be too big, no?

Lets say 3 week to be able to get clone, 2 more weeks to see sex?
Minimum 5 weeks, hmm?
Or more?

SOG with seeds is very doable with 12/12 all the way thru.. Males always show first, just cull them and continue with the ladies.. Not hard at all..
Yes, I think I might go with it.
Still thinking what the best, meanwhile I have 23 seeds in gify.

If I can do sex test from clones and find 4 females out of 16, that also can work.
Just not sure how I can do that fast enough in 3X2 tent...

You can sex test a seedling and know by the time you could take clones boy/girl.... But I am too cheep to spend the $ to have any tests. I was going to do a sog my last grow with seeds (f2) that I made. I popped 20 selected the best looking 12 and was planning to just get a main cola from 6. Plan B after 9/12 were boy .... 3 girls no trimming in the net one was a foot taller than the other 2. I would say that was a sog fail.

I took the risk with fem seeds an got a couple big well sogged plants I think if you know how to create the structure of your sog correctly easy enough to drop the plant if by chance went male but well new still to indoor many more years experience to come .. an yeah non fem I don’t think I’d try it
