Sog growing?

So im thinking of changing my technique. Currently i grow big plants that yield good. Been working good for me but my space is becoming very limited and have heard that sog is a good way to get the most out of your space, lights and increase yields. Would like to give a sog a try. Does this sound like a good way to get the most out of my small spaces? I have 2 flower closets, one is 4'x5' and the other is 3'x4' and i veg in a 3'x3' tent and a have a 2'x3' tent. I can only fit about 2 plants in each of my flower closets growing big and my veg plants end up getting crammed. Any tips? Thanks

A true sog is no veg time, straight from rooted clones to flower. Under a 600 watter you could easily get away with 32-36 clones. But it also requires you to have mother plants for this to work so that you can take cuttings from. Preferably 6-8" clones. Anything less than that would be sub par. 4 plants per sq in. So basically you would be using 2 liter bottles. With your preferred medim of choice. I run perlite/vermiculite Hempys. But I run 2x600's XXXL magnum hoods so as of now I have about 105 girls under the artificial sun....

Ok well maybe a "true sog" isnt the right way. That still seems like alot of space to take up with the mother plants. I had in mind vegging plants until there about 8"-12" then flowering in about 3 gallon pots (1 pot per square foot) also this would minimize the number of clones id have to take and the size of the mother plants and save space.

For overall yearly harvest weights nothing beats single cola zero veg sog , you should pull 3 lbs every 7.5 weeks out of your 4x4 area alone , large clones with 6 to 8 nodes & no side branching is the most productive at 2 to 3 zips per 5 inch net pot .

I take 6 to 6.5 lbs from a 4x8 6 times a year , use one of those tents as a mother room & go man go .

Well when you put it that way id be crazy not to try. Im going to give a sog a run for my next cycle, thanks much for the information!

Now do you for the most part choose mainly indica dominant strains that flower fast or are some longer flowering sativas ok? I ask because i prefer sativas as some of my patients do too, so would it be totally crazy to try this with indica and sativas or should i just make it simple and separate then?
Also would a 2 gallon pot be good to flower them in or is that over/under kill?

Indica heavy strains are best suited for sog , when you say 2 ft pot what style are you referring to , coco & drip or what ? Mixing sativa & Indica under the same light or in the same grow table is not advised .

I use 5 inch pots & get roots that will fill a 5 gallon pot , one key to large harvests with sog is to fit as many plants possible into a square foot area , the 2 ft pot deal is way too big unless it's ebb & flow or coco & drip .

The whole purpose of sea of green is to grow as many plants possible per sq ft & to finish the entire grow in 8 weeks or less .

Okay so 2 gallon pots may be too big. I will be growing in an organic super soil just trying to get a good idea of what a good size pot would be to provide enough room for my plants roots. My main focus would be to grow as many as possible in one area rather than finish in under 8 weeks. So ill end up splitting my rooms and doing sativa in one and indicas in the other.

Hmm interesting!

I've 2 spare stables measuring 4 meters wide by 3 meters deep each. If insulated properly etc what kind of weight would I be looking at given a reasonable yield? The roof height is 8 feet at highest point, but i'd prob make a false ceiling at 7 foot or so. Running electrics etc wouldn't be hard as stables are in my back garden aka a field about 20 meters away from my house.

Sorry for the hijack!

What strain (s) are you going to run?
Well i have some cherry og, blueberry, sugar black rose that are mainly indica and can finish pretty quick. And ill do some cotton candy, honey bananas, tijuana, headband, and tangie ghost train haze to choose from to run seperately for sativa dominant.

Got any good strains youd recommend?

Currently running a scrog, was able to.train my buds, control growth, and easy access to them. IMO scrog is the way to increase numbers

Hey thanks, ive been thinking about that as well i already have some screens made up but i never ended up using them. The thing that stopped me was that the plants cant get moved around when its time to water and me doing it by hand makes setting it up a but more complicated.

I havnt ran too many sativa's except super lemon haze, tangie (very good tasting) and currently blue dream. I do have a pack of fem ghost train haze I havnt popped yet. If I by a camera I may do a grow journal. Pics of my iPad aren't the best.

Did you have good success with the sativas? I also have blue dream i forgot to mention.
I havent popped my tangie ghost train haze yet either i
Just got them and dont have enough room to get them started ( partially why i want to do sog so i can grow more strains at once) ive heard the ghost train haze is top notch i hope you do start a journal when you get them planted. Would be great to see how it does!

Also just got some c99 and blue cheese from female seeds i thought would be good for sog
