I do 50/50 Promix Hp Myco and FFOF..add a few scoops of perlite and set those girls in there. Really fluffy mix

you think it would be alright to dig a hole in the ground and fill it with that mix??? cuz from what I've read on that its good for poor drainage areas, which is how the surrounding soil is.

that mix would be fine. i would just be sure to mulch well to preserve moisture

wait until its in the 90's and 100's and you dont get rain for a week or two. even if you have poor draining soil around your hole, it will dry up as well.

Yea Promix is all Peat Moss, it's technically hydro growing as opposed to soil mixes which are more dense. Promix when in the bales is like dust. I coughed up a lung mixing up the soil before I decided to hose down the Promix in a separate container and then add the FFOF. I'd mulch because the peat moss is going to get leached by the surrounding soil if you are digging a hole to grow in. Or you can add worm castings or something more dense and the promix will thin out what ever it is you decide to use. Are you guerrilla growing or would this be in close proximity to a garden hose? If your doing it in your yard then use the 50/50 mix with some extra perlite and keep an eye on it until it gets some what dry and then you can determine how often you'd need to water it. I just planted mine in 5gal nursery pots and its taking them about 3-5 days to dry out.

I'm doing sort of a half guerrilla grow cuz technically its not my property, but the forest is pretty much in my backyard, I found a good clearing about 50 yards into the forest, so its not that far of a walk to bring water. I'm going to get the promix and the rest of my ffof on monday since the hydro shop is closed today, I might have to order the promix cuz i don't know if they will have it.

you should be good then since you have easy access. i personally would still mulch but if its almost in your backyard, you can get away without it. 50/50 will work great. i would also add dolomite lime to the mix. 1 cup per cubic foot will buffer the soil and prevent any ph problems.

yea I already bought the lime, I have a history of ph problems hahaha. just checked on my plants today after putting up a 2 foot fence around them, and something ate the bottom 2 nodes, and found little tiny ants in the soil of one of the pots.... might be a looooong season...

Joe is right. I live in Texas and... wow it gets way up there. Constant need of water and even then.. it dries up quick. Gotta have some moister control in around here. I agree, add some mulch in there.

yea its up to 95 today... getting the ffof tomorrow and premix today... how many bags each u think ill need for 4 plants?

1 bag of each will do 4 5gallon containers if I'm not mistaken. I did 30 with 1 1/2 F.F.O.F - 1 pro-mix and some perlite and extra peat moss. I bought the peat moss not realizing that promix is all peat moss any how. so I cut it more then normal. Id get 1 bag of ffof and pro and that should do ya

I like using Kellog's outdoor/indoor patio plus . It's realyy good stuff and is at a really low price! I like mixing it with super soil Works great for me.

I'm not gonna be putting them in pots, I'm digging a decent sized hole in the ground and then filling it with that mix, and from my research, promix and ffof is the soil for me, especially how well it drains. Thanks hustler, I'm gonna be grabbing that today!

no offense but this mix sucks..if you were to see a plant transplanted into a 1gal container and then become root bound 12 days later you wouldn't be using kellogs any more. I have some plants in that stuff and by far ffof has stomped that soil into the ground. Nothing beats the extra $$ spent on some decent soil

my plants are looking pretty similar to those in 5th week, but something ate the bottom half of my biggest g13 haze
