Hey mark, i havnt used wests for pot but have used it in my garden, it quite good stuff. It dose hold a fair bit of moisture so try not to overwater. Most soils have nutes in them before you start and i have had no problems. If you are worried its too strong try diluting it with perlite or some clay pebbles to thin the soil out and increase aeration. It will also improve drainage and give a good balance between water retention and aeration. Hope that helps. Good luck.

My mate uses something very similar. Makes all his weed taste the same (rather bland and unappealing). They grow healthy enough though - just cheap and budget end product compared to the same strains grown by me using 'BioBizz' soil and nutes. Really is the difference between mid and high grade (compared strains include Kolossus and Super Lemon Haze). You get what you pay for. And when I pay good money for good cannabis genetics I'm not gonna reduce the quality of the end product just to save on soil. (just imo - based in years of experience though)

What sort of soil do you suggest?.

I used this one before and it started fine this was my last plant at two weeks with this soil with some perlite in it also.

When a fan fell and it chopped it up :(

I think it was 2 weeks old or something like that.

Then you're not a first time grower (like you said in op) and you already know the soil works? Why do you need us man? lol

Ok done being a dick.. google hydro shops around your area. Take a look at their soils. Or just order some good soil off amazon.

Unless it's bagseed, then go ahead and experiment with your potting soil.

I'm not experienced enough to suggest a good soil, but I'm using Fox Farms Light Warrior for the seedlings (great for starting seeds). I didn't add perlite and it drains fine. And then later I'm gonna transplant them to Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil.

yeah the plant was growing.
If it works for you, then go with it.

Personally, I'd google search hydro shops in my city and check out their soils. Just do it? Doubt you have. You gotta invest in your grow if you really want something out of it. Fox Farms brand always looks like a safe bet..

I personally do not like mixes with added nutrients, because I think what I feed her isn't the same as what the roots get. I just like plain potting mix with maybe some kelp. I also add extra perlite for good measure.

Safe bet is to get Fox Farms Light Warrior. It's great for the roots. Only like 20 dollars a bag. If you're not dedicated enough to spend a little bit of time and money, I suggest you save your seeds. Not to sound mean.. it's just, I rushed my first time and screwed everything up. Patience and dedication.

Wow dude just suggested the guy not to use cheap soil I don't see any hating going on here. You get what you pay for with most things in life. Do you want Walmart middle grade weed? Or good quality tastey buds. Go with a well tested soil that is of good quality. Or even better mix your own and you know exactly what's in it.
