Soil Is Drying out to fast.

I am officially into the grow, I have germinated my seed and have it under a 27 watt bulb. I have it about half an inch away from the pot and soil. I feel like low light more heat will be affective with this seed/plant. I am keeping it at 24/0 for now and probably until I start to get a small plant, or two weeks.

I do not know what type of seed it is "bag seed" but It was a dank sack so Im hoping it goes with the bud.

I had watered and planted it at like 12 today and started it. Came back at 9 and it was dryer then normal on top and then about 1/4" down it was moiste. Is this okay for the fact that it will make the plants reach and stretch for the moisture and life or is the light to close to the plant?

Move the light higher so it doesn't dry out the soil and burn the seedling before it even comes out of the soil. You want it moist until the seedling is a week or so old. You dont want a seedling drying out before it gains some strength.

Or transplant to a bigger pot. Use some perlite to retain moisture improve drainage and airration.

Move the light a little bit back away from the dirt... Water a little more, you can't let the soil get dry with seedlings, you want to keep it moist constantly... until the seedling is strong enough to survive a day or two without water.

Ive watered it twice since 11AM today. Just moved the light away from the pot about 3 or 4 inches and at an angle. Ill post back on here when I wake up in the morning and let you knkow how it goes.

Agree with all Above, you can also put sand ont he top of the soil, it will keep the soil form drying out to heat/light and wont hurt the plant. Sand workes btter then mulch, when its dry its sand Keeps bugs out too and has some reflective properties

It's not transpiring it hasn't popped yet. Moving the light will take care of the problem...

Mist soil with lite spray... of PH good water...when it becomes to dry...I mist around edges of pot/cup...
Don't let soil be 100% dry...the seedling needs moderation in everything...
Mist soil, lights as close as possible... What is your heat at soil ?
