soil options?

i have been using ocean forest for a my grows as suggested but then i found out my friend is using MG potting mix and some good results. so i went over there and took a look and i gotta say, them shits was lookin heavy. i dont know if its the strain or what but we are both using the same nutes, lights, and water schedule, its just that his soil is 25 bucks cheaper. any thoughts? thanks.

Some ppl swear by the MG. But in my opinion its rolling the dice. Your FF is pasturized soil so you wont be buying any insects with your bag of soil. I use promix, OF and Happy Frog all mixed together. Never had an issue, my plants love it.

i feel ya on that. i had used happy frog before but it had always given me ph issues.

I beg to differ on this one. my last 4 bags of FFOF, one of them had hypoasis(sp) mites in them. they are beneficial mites to eat any larva and other insects that may be in the bags. see my hypoasis(sp) or spider mite thread.

ive been running FFOF for over 2 yrs now and would never switch to anything else. its not really about the soil when it comes to growing. it comes down to the genetics of the plant and the grower him/herself.

Plagron batmix is the best iv used so far...and I used a lot...70% coco coir I think with all the good stuff added...hope this helps
